Hi my name is Jenna, I've been married to my dh for 9 years and we have two little boys. This week I had a miscarriage, my first. I was wondering how long it took before your af was normal again. I want to start ttc right away, but my dh wants to wait now. How long did it take your hcg levels to go back down? I'm really hoping not to have a d&c.

Hi Jenna, so sorry for your loss. The women here are fantastic and can offer a lot of advice and support.
As for when AF will be normal and your HCG to go down again is dependent upon the person. Every women is different and there is nothing set in stone about specific times. I hope you recover quickly.

Hi Jenna, I am sorry for your loss. As lex1078 pointed out every woman is different. I had a birth of a stillborn baby and my AF showed 5w1day after this. Again nothing is set in stone so I am hoping for a quick recovery for you.

Jenna,
I am so sorry for your loss. I miscarried on 12/16/09 at 15w4d. I was induced (didn't have a d&c). I started bleeding that night and bled until 1/15/10. I started spotting again on 1/19 and have been since. Basically I have been bleeding/spotting since 12/16 (6 weeks). I have no clue if I have had AF or if I am still waiting for AF to show up. I had my hcg checked on 1/5 and it was less than 2 which is negative. 1/26 it was 434 and 1/28 it was 300 something. I had a partial molar pregnancy so the nurse told me I have to go in weekly now until my number is neg. Then possibly once a month for a year. Like i said though I had a pmp so mine is handled different than others. Everyone is different.

I'm very sorry for your loss Jenna. I had a natural miscarriage at 9w6d. For me AF returned 3 weeks later. Everyone is different though.
Please ask us any questions. We are here to help you get through this.

Thanks . . . I don't want to wait. Fortunately I wasn't very far along, but it still hurts (emotionally). I cry everytime I go to the bathroom and see the blood . . . . I just want it to all go away soon!

I have had three losses... my first loss was very early and AF came 4 weeks later, My second loss I had to have a d/e.. 35 days later AF came... the 3rd loss was a little different.. I was told my numbers were not rising.. about a week after that.. I had 2 days of very light bleeding... my numbers were still high.. Almost 5 weeks later... they finally droped and AF started. Than that cycle was very short only 24 days.

It seems to vary greatly. I had a d&c on Nov 6th. I was still bleeding and had started cramping again at my almost 3 week check up so he did an u/s and I had a clot and possible tissue remaining, so we waited a week because he thought it was trying to pass which explained the cramping. But the spotting pretty much stopped during that week, still had some cramping off and on. So I had to have a repeat d&c 4 weeks after the first one. The bleeding/spotting stopped in about a week give or take a few days that time. I got af on Jan 6th, seemed pretty normal but I did have some spotting some after af stopped.
