She told me that the tiny bit of spotting I had on the 28th should count as my period. I told her it was like a drop or 2. She said to still count it as day 1 of my cycle. Huh? I asked her if it was ok that I didnt have a period and she said yes. She said they wouldnt even bring someone in till they had missed there period for 3 mths straight and that was only if the patient was worried about it. I told her about starting 5 days eariler last month. She really didnt seem like it was a big deal or anything. I asked her if antibotics could affect the results on a pregnancy test and she said no.
So who knows when and if I am ovulating. She said I didnt need to make an appt.
She said to take a test one week after being late and then another one after being 2 weeks late and if those were both NEG then I wasnt pregnant for sure.
Ugggggghhh, looks like I am just stuck.
I thought yesterday that AF was finally coming because I had a tiny bit more pink when I wiped but that was it and it never came.
So now I am on CD 34. Unless I am counting the tiny drop of spot day 1 of my cycle like the nurse said. This just seems weird you would count that as a period. Totally confused about that one.

So what do you ladies think about what she told me?

I think that nurse is WACKJOB! I think maybe you should either a) find another Dr... b) Make up something to get into see the Dr.... c) Go to your primary Dr and let them know what is going on and see if they want to refer you!!!

A spot is NOT a period..... I am so sorry they are not listening..... HUGS!

The thing is that I love my Dr but dont like this nurse. She is the triage nurse there. It takes forever to get an appointment with the Dr. I also dont think he is into much testing but he is a really great Dr and I do like him a lot. He was great with my m/c. He is also good with women whom want a natural childbirth as I do. So not sure what to do.
I could go to my family dr and see what they think. I really just want to make sure I am ovulating normally. I just dont want all this trying to be for nothing. Ya know? I dont want to waste a year when we could of been doing things.

So what is the latest anyone has been? Is it ok to completly skip a period? Would that mean something was wrong if I do skip one? I am ok with skipping, I just want to still be ovulating. All of this really isnt normal for me. I normally have a 28 day cycle. I did start early last month and I have started late in the past but never had tiny bit of spot and then nothing.

I would ask to speak with someone different, or just book an appt with the receptionist. REALLY they cannot deny you an appt if you have concerns, so don't even ask, just do it. Then you can go over everything with your doctor yourself and not go thru a "middleman" if that makes sense.

I don't understand your concerns exactly? if it's because you're starting 5 days earlier, you haven't officially started yet... I'm sorry but a spot is not considered your CD1. I've had numerous doctors and nurses confirm it is THE 1st day of REAL bleeding. (btw do you know who she is? Call and ask for the head nurse to talk to!)

If it's about when your period is starting, do you have any infections going on? You said you're on antibiotics...

Are you under allot of stress, more so than usual? That can create your cycles to go out of whack for sure.

What is the pattern they have been in for a while, what is your norm? When did it start changing from your norm?

Your AF can be wacked out for so long after a miscarriage... mine had never really become "normal" they fluctuated days for CD1 and O days.

Write down your concerns, put details of what your cycles have been doing the last 6 months after your loss and everything you can think of that you would want to ask or talk about at an appt. If you're not satified how you're being taken care of I would do 2 things... complain & get a 2nd opinion!

Hope this helps!

What I am concerned about is that the day I was suppose to start AF I had a tiny drop or 2 of blood but then nothing else after that and its been 5 days since. I normally have a period every 28 days so this is not normal for me. I had been told by other ladies to check with my Dr so I called today and that was what the nurse had told me.

I was late 5 days one time when I had gotten a false postive on a pregnancy test and then last month I was 5 days early. Other than these few times I have been an every 28 day person. So it seems something weird has been going on latly. My biggest concern is that I want to make sure I am o ing normally. I did buy a BB temp and its on its way. Maybe this will tell me if I am o ing.

I had been sick and was on meds. I had asked the nurse if that affected anything and she had said no. I have a few more days on the meds.

I am fine with not having a period I just want to make sure I am oing and I think what the nurse told me was jacked up. Wanted to see what you ladies thought.

I just want to get on with the next cycle. Not sure how to tell I am o ing or when since I didnt get a period.

Ya, I was sort of confused by your post and didn't want to assume...

you could still be O'ing normally and have a problem with say your thyroid which can make your cycles wacky causing spotting or very frequent or infrequent periods. That is a simple inexpensive blood test that they could do.

There's so many different things that could be or might not be going on, but a little blood work can tell allot! Even a pap culture and some other simple things could help determine what the heck is going on and it wouldn't be anything for your doctor to do.

I would definitely schedule an appt with your OB/GYN or family practice doc.

Sorry to hear that things are so confusing and frustrating!!! Allot of us have had those frustrating fricken cycles, but we're all different so different reasons... I hope that they can find yours! (and if they don't do enough tell them, then look for new provider)

Yes you probably missed my other post explaining what was going on this cycle. LOL

I do have a thyroid problem already but it never affected my cycles. I guess it could be just now affecting that but I kinda doubt it since it wasnt a problem before. Who knows though.

Hopefully I will get AF soon and everything will go back to normal.

it is so frustrating when health care workers dont listen. ugh. i hate that.

if you cant get anyone to see you, the best thing you can do is take it into your own hands. when that thermometer comes, use it faithfully and track your CM.

if you get temping down, there will be no question as to whether or not you are o'ing. do you use opk's too? they wont actually tell you if you are o'ing but they will tell you when your LH surge is so you can make sure your temp rises after that (confirming you o'ed)

i hope you are able to get someone to listen to you soon and/or things go back to normal so you can know what is going on!
