as you all know i am coming off a loss about 3 weeks ago.

well i noticed EWCM so i took an OPK - in about one more flippen day that stick is going to flaming positive!!!

what do i do? do i go for it? they say you are so much more fertile after a mc... i dont want to wait 7 months again to get preggo....but i dont want to push things if docs want you to wait for health reason to wait 2 cycles....

i was told by my doc the waiting was for dating purposes, anyone know if this is for sure?

it is sooooo hard to let a fertile time go by, but i want to make sure i have an optimal environment for my next STICKY bean LOL

i know ultimately the decision is mine to make, but i really want your advice... WWYD?

Many women get pregnant immediately following a m/c and have very healthy babies. A friend of mine had two successful pregnancies this way. It all depends on you - if you are ready.

If you body is not ready, you will not get pregnant. My dr. told me to wait until my 1st period, then I was fine to try and that was for dating purposes. A lot of women here will tell you their doctor's told them to wait 3 cycles, but that there is no medical reason for it.

Good luck!

It is your choice... After my last loss.... I had the darkest OPK I had ever had!! I went in for an u/s.... and not one, NODA.... mature follice that would have released and egg..... With tht being said... Thier is no 100% chance that you will get pregnant..... BUT what if you don't try??? Will you regret it??? I have come to the mind set... Of not having regrets... Not puting off my life..... Not looking back saying... Oh I should have....

So I would say BD!! What do you have to loose??? And My dr told me... if your body is not ready... you will not concieve!!!

GOOD LUCK!

Its your choice..I went for it!!!

However...didn't you say recently that you were getting positive EPT still? If you are...then the dark line on the OPK could be from the HCG and NOT from the LH hormone. OPKs will be positive when you are pregnant. IF your HCG has dropped down tho then you could O soon!

Hey mafia. I had a loss about 4 weeks ago.. and actually i remember that picture of your daughter in the august ddc so we must have been in there together. I was so upset by my loss i didn't even have the heart to tell them over there... so i just left. I'm doing much better now and I hope you are too.

FYI... my doctor said I can start trying again right away and I've heard many times that it's just for dating the pregnancy purposes as to why they want you to wait. Lots of women have given me the great advice that your body won't get pregnant until it's ready so hopefully that helps. I'm really sorry for your loss.

My theory is that if your body isn't ready for a pregnancy, then you won't get pregnant. As long as you are mentally ready to try again, then try again.

Best of luck with whichever you choose.

I have read and love the book "A Panic Free Pregnancy" and I looked in there (the author is a retired ob/gyn). He said there is no health risk to you/baby to go ahead a start trying right after a m/c as long as it wasn't a llate term m/c. That wait 3 months is based on outdated misinformation according to the book. My ob did not tell us to wait, and my sister m/c'd at about 9 weeks and her ob did not tell her to wait. Both our md's said if you're ready to try just go ahead. Hope that helped a little.

thank you all so much for your replies and encouragement!

after discussing it with my dh, we have decided to wait out one full cycle. after AF shows up - we will be going for it.

i took an hpt yesterday morning and it was stark white - thank goodness. looks like everything is progressing as it should (for the moment anyway.... i truly just keep looking one day at a time LOL).

JessMitch - i am so very sorry to hear about your loss. i know what you mean about posting on the DDC. i actually did post that i was leaving, but it was on that day when all the post disappeared (remember that?) and there was no way i was going to repost it. so a lot of the girls probably think ijust fell off the face of the earth!

i hope you get your BFP soon - once again i am so sorry you had to experience such sadness, but i am glad you are doing better~
