I've just finishing up my first real AF after the m/c. I've never had regular periods, ever, and this is my first time really paying attention to it, so I have no idea what my "normal" is. I was on bcp before I got pregnant, so I hadn't had a "natural" period in almost a year until now.

After my m/c, my levels hit zero about on CD15, and I ovulated on CD34.

I haven't the slightest idea when to start with the OPKs, or mucinex and grapefruit juice! I was thinking around CD 12, but I could be doing it for more than a week (or two!) with no results and it will probably make me a bit crazier than normal. I have 23 IC OPKs left.

So... any recommendations? Would it be any less effective if I'm drinking the grapefruit juice for two weeks?

I don't know about the grapefruit juice, but I'm very intrigued and will look into that.

As for the OPK's I would start testing on day 15 and with 23 of them should bring you to CD38. Hopefully you'll O before then and won't have to buy more. Ok, Honestly, I would buy more IC OPK's and start now. To wait till CD15 seems like a really long time to me. If you buy them at earlypregnancytests.com they ship pretty quickly and you should have them before you run out, which hopefully you won't.

I'm a POAS addict. Sorry if I wasn't much help.

i actually start testing on cd 8, cause that is when i start to get EWCM. i usually have 3 full days of +opks. very strange.

this last time i got my BFP we started to bd when the opk's started to get dark and kept at it til they went negative. it worked!

I would actually start as soon as AF leaves. I agree with Stephanie. That way you'll know when to start the Mucinex- when they start getting darker, I'd start it. As for the grapefruit juice, I don't think it would hurt to start that early. We actually have a woman on the TTC board who's drinking it daily all cycle and seeing how it goes- she already has EWCM but isn't at O time yet. I think if you test all cycle, you should get an idea fo next cycle when you should start testing. I just don't want you to miss it in case you O early! Just so you know, I usually have kind of dark OPK's around CD 12-14, then they get light, then I got my positive CD 17-18. Good luck!

When I ovulated 3 weeks ago, I'd been using the OPKs for over two weeks. It went from the most negative test I'd seen yet, to holy cow positive in under 24 hours. I was actually getting ready to give up the day it was positive. So, unfortunately I don't think I'll have much warning. Although I know everything changes, so it's possible I will.

Honestly, I'm considering actively preventing this cycle. I can't explain it, but I just feel like a November due date would be... wrong. December would be perfect, although I'd probably be due very close to my angelversary. So if I miss out this cycle, I won't be terribly disappointed. Although I do want to do all the things that help with EWCM, because I've never actually seen it before! I also want a better idea of my cycles because I REALLY want to try for a boy this time.

The POASaholic in me will probably win out though. Last cycle I used 27 OPKs and 17 hpts! I think I'll try to hold out until at least CD12 and then start testing again.
