I have tried to avoid this board, because I do not want to remind myself of my loss, but I think I need to be here. I have been on the TTC boards since about December. I have some questions since you ladies have been through the same thing. I will start with the background first.

I found out I was pregnant October 13. I had my m/c on October 26. We lost our little one after 6 weeks and 5 days. Pretty much when I got the u/s at the ER, they said there was no sign of a pregnancy, but the b/w showed it. To me, it seemed like my period was just way late, since there was nothing they could do. Well, I didn't have anyone to talk to and ask questions after that visit. I didn't know to consider the m/c bleeding my period or what. I later found out that that is not AF. So I didn't have my first period till January 8. Finally AF came.

Here I am today, wondering a few things. My cycles are normally 30 days +/- 1 day. I still have not received AF. I felt like she was going to show on Sunday for a little bit, but now I feel really normal. This morning I had a bit of nausea for like 2 minutes.

Here's the questions: Would it be possible that my cycles are going to be outta whack for a bit? Could I possible be able to get a BFP right now? Should I wait awhile before I test to see if AF is just a little late? What is normal for someone with a recent loss?

Sorry this is so long. I just don't know anyone close to me who would really know the answers. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I do appreciate it.

Jana, I'm glad you came over here, hon I really think the ladies here will be able to answer your questions and help you get through this.
I do know sometimes cycles are a little off after a m/c. I O'ed 3 days later in the cycle after my loss, but I also had the flu, so I attributed it to that. I also was earlier than you- I was only 4 weeks, so it was technically a CP, but I hate that term- it makes it sound like it wasn't a loss, and to me it was. I know in the TTC board you said you'd probably use OPK's and chart next cycle, which I think is great. I don't rely have advice on if you should test- I probably would, but it might not be accurate. Like I said on the TTC board though, I think I'd test just to possibly get an answer. Good luck, hon!

Jana... I am so sorry for your loss.... HUGS. Welcome to the board...

I have a few questions... First off.... have you tested negative? Or did you have bloodwork that was 0 for HCG?? The reason I ask this is so if you do test if it is +.. you will know it is a new pregnancy.

As for your cycles.. After a m/c it can take weeks, months... even up to a year... Every Body is different. Thier is no "normal" after a m/c....

But If I was you... I would test... just to make sure KUP!!! HUGS!!!!!!

first off - i am very sorry for your loss. i had one at 8+4 and i know how terribly painful it is. i am glad you found your way over to this board tho! the women here a really really wonderful

i am going to say what i personally would do in your situation. i am still waiting on my first AF after my loss (which was in January), but if i were going on three months without AF i think this is what i would do.

first off i would go straight to my doc and ask them to check my blood to make sure all the hcg is out of my system. sometimes there are issues that keep this from happening, and if you aren't back down to zero right now (unless of course you are preggo again, in which case, definitely ask for an u/s to confirm) you need a docs advice on why you arent back down yet.

if you are down to zero and arent currently pregnant, i would buy a huge pack of opk's. that will tell you if you are least having your surge. temping will be able to tell you for sure if you are actually O'ing.

like kary said - after a loss things can be messed up for a long time, but i know if there doesnt seem to be any medical reason why you arent getting af, docs can give you a shot that will jump start your cycle back up agaiin.

GL! truly your first step ( if you havent already done it) is getting your blood tested! from there you will have more answers as to how to proceed

Hey guys, thank you all so much. I did take a HPT at 3 today and it was negative. I'm going to try and set up an appointment soon. I just didn't want to make one when AF is supposed to arrive. I don't have time for a longer reply, so I will be back on. DH needs the computer. I have some question to ask and stuff, so I'll talk to y'all in a little while.

Hey ladies, so for the quick post earlier. Back when I had my miscarriage in Oct, I was schedualed for blood work two days earlier. The office I went to didn't open when it was supposed to, so I went out of town and never got the test done.

However, I have had a period since, on January 8th. So I really didn't think anything of it. Thought everything would be back to normal. My husband and I are still working on a few things, like insurance and finding a doctor. We don't have either. When we moved here, we though he would get insurance. He does, but it is super expensive and even his boss told him to go somewhere else. So, we have been looking for insurance that is cheap, yet trustworthy.
So, I haven't gone to the doctor since because we don't have insurance and I just don't know where to go. I have a friend who is going to give me the number to her OB GYN from when she was pregnant.
Is there such thing as insurance for maternity purposes only? Thats all I want. I'm pretty healthy as it is.
Needless to say, DH and I may be putting TTC off, unless I'm already pregnant, till about April. I'll have a job, which my check will go towards health insurance.
I know it was not smart to TTC without insurance. I just kinda got into want mode.
Thank you ladies very much though. Hopefully I'll be going to see a doctor soon to get questions answered.
