Anyone here have lupus? I was recently diagnose and also just went thru my 4th MC in the past year. I've had a work up done with the RE and they found nothing. I don't have the lupus anticoagulant nor do I test positive to the Antiphoslipid (sp antibodies. I was basically told that my MC's are because of my age, 38. I'm still convinced that it is the lupus and now they are talking IVF. It's just so much for me to take in. Anyone out there have any experience with this?

I am so sorry for your losses. I hope you find this to be a safe place for you on your journey.

I do not have lupus, but I do have Celiac, Hashimoto and in the process of testing for type I diabetes - all autoimmune disorders. Have they tested you for other causes of recurrent loss - the gene mutations etc? Have they done analysis on DH?

I think there is a lot people don't understand about autoimmune disorders, especially when it comes to pregnancy. I have known several people that have given birth to healthy babies over the age of 40

I did get tested for genetic disorders and DH had test done as well, they found zilch. I'm going to the RE again on the 26th to talk IVF. I just can't go thru another loss.

Yes lupus can cause miscarriages, I would look into a new rheumatologist if they try to tell you otherwise. There is so much information out there about it, it is so hard to diagnose and just because their blood work doesn't pick it up doesn't mean that you don't have it!

Are you going to a rhuematologist at all? They could verify and back up your diagnosis to the ob / peri / re.

I do have a good rheumatologist and the funny thing is that I actually work for one as well. So, I'm followed very closely for the Lupus itself. I'm also seeing a Reproductive Ednocrinologist. Any test that my RE did, my rheum followed up with as well. so, i was double tested for all of the Lupus stuff.

That's awesome! How did they finally diagnose you?

I've had tests showing lower platelettes & elevated something else, but not enough for him to do anyting about... I've had low grade fever, hair loss, bowel issues, now I'm having allot of bladder problems and I could go on. I've read my eyeballs out about lupus and it seems to really fit it in so many ways. I have a rash on my face now too that comes and goes, but it's been here for quiet some time.

Sorry I don't mean to go off, I just wanted to know what they finally found and diagnosed you.

I'm not sure, but I know someone with Lupus and she is currently pregnant with her first and everything is going okay. She is a little younger (32) and her Lupus is currently in remission.
