I would like to lose about 10-15lbs. I lost about 10-lbs since my m/c. Not sure how much to count. I weighed 163 when I found out I was pg. Had REALLY bad m/s but only lost 4 lbs so I went down to 159. When I got to 14weeks my feet swelled and I weighed 170. The day I m/c I weighed 169 and on 1/5 when I went back to the dr. I weighed 149. So not really sure if I count the weight from the swelling or not. I would really like to get to at least 135 but would love to get down to 130. Prob. impossible.
Does anyone have any good exercises that I could try at home? I hurt my back 3 years ago and still have problems. This is the first time I am trying to exercise on my own since I hurt it. I weighed around 140 when I got hurt and gained 23 lbs due to steroids, other meds, and not being able to exercise. I am trying to use my ab roller (hurts like heck) and walk inside my house for about 10 min. I really don't think I am going to lose any weight by just doing that. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I figure since I can't really ttc right now then I my as well try to lose weight and hopefully keep my mind off of it.
I do have a wii and I bought a workout game for it but haven't tried it yet. I wanted to get the wii fit but don't want to spend $100 on it if I can't do it.

Lisa... I know ebay you can get the wii fit very cheap.... some bearly used for 30 dollars... I know some of the cable shows have exercise shows..... as for idea's. I don't have an injury... so I don't know what would be good or bad.... I know yoga is low impact.... but you could also try going on line... and looking up excercising with back injuries.. I hope you get some good answers.. HUGS

Lisa,
I think you need to speak to a professional in relation to an exercise program particularly since you have a back injury. I would stop using the ab roller since you are getting pain & also that won't help with weight loss (only toning).
If tou can't commit to an exercise program, you can still lose weight by reducing your calorie intake. In effect eat less food (calories) against the amount that you are burning/using (calories)
How you work this out is by your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) less X amount of calories (to lose weight). I only have the calculation is kgs (I am in Australia). However if you searched on the internet you'd be able to find a calculation for the U.S.
I also keep an online food diary which calculates my calories for me and ensures I stay within my calorie guideline.
I hope you can find some help & support. Best of luck

OMG! I wrote this whole thing and my internet crapped out on me!! WAHH!!
Anyway, here's the short version: Do you have a treadmill? If you are interested in one I would suggest looking on Craigslist. You can get a good one for pretty cheap.
Also, try eating whole grains and no white starches. Add more fiber to your diet, it will help you feel fuller longer. Snack often, you don't want to get your self into starving mode cause your body will go into famine mode. It helps to keep your metabolism up.

Just wanted to say in addition to what Stephanie has said about snacking regularly - small amounts of protein (ie: meat, chicken, cheese etc...) will also help you feel fuller for longer plus if you start exercising, your recovery will be better (not as sore muscles)

Thank you for the replies. I am going to try and diet. That is also difficult b/c I am probably THE PICKIEST eater you will ever meet. I am trying though. I have been eating a lot of salads lately. Although I do use a lot of dressing which is bad!
So I tried the Biggest Loser on Wii and I hurt today!!! I couldn't do some of the stuff they did b/c of my back and my knee (3 surgeries). I just made something up to do when they did jump rope and stuff.
I know one thing.... I am so uncoordinated it is unreal. If only you could have been a little fly you would have cracked up laughing. I still don't know how to do some of the exercises they did but I sure tried. Boxing and lifting legs, this and that at the same time. Maybe I will get it figured out soon. Although I have a feeling they will add more to it.

please, before you do anything more, talk to your doc or PT or chiro about what exercises are best for your injury. you can really really hurt yourself if you do the wrong moves with a back injury (this happened to my mom when she was 33 and she is now 80 and has been battling her bad back allll those years).
i would walk until you get some advice. actually the BEST thing you could possibly do is swim. no impact and it stretches everything out. the Y usually has a pool and it is super cheap to join.
definitely join something like sparkpeople to keep track of your calories. the only way to lose is to burn more then you consume! best way to do that super fast is to cut out sugar and white stuff.
GL on your journey!

Salads are great . . . try using a vinegar and oil dressing. You can make it yourself and put in seasonings and sweetner. I definitely wouldn't work out anymore until I talked to a physical therapist. But you can loose a lot of weight just from adjusting your diet. My dad has also had back and knee surgeries from a couple different accidents, but he lost weight by eating more fruits and vegetables and completely cutting out potatoes, pastas, and white flour. It can be a good jump start until you can talk to a doc about exercise. Also drink lots of water!
