Went to the genetics counselor today. I am exhausted. We left at noon and just got home. I have had a very emotional day with all of this and DH. He is frustrating the he** out of me right now. He said he is tired of hearing about all of this and wants to stop talking about it. I was like well at least you don't have to get stuck with a needle all the time, get injections, or have cramps and bleeding. So ya not too happy with him right now.

Will have to post more about my appt. tomorrow b/c I am ready for bed. Long story short I told him how I was still having cramps almost had DH take me to the ER yesterday b/c I couldn't walk for a couple hours. Also told him that I was still spotting. I asked him about an u/s. They did one right then. I still have some tissue so he recommends getting a D&C. He called my dr. with us right there in the room. I have to call my dr. office back in the morning to schedule the appt. So yeah! I have felt like something hasn't been right for awhile and am glad that he listened. Not really happy that I need a D&C though. He said I should be neg. by the time I go back to see him which will be in 1 month!

LISA! You're back!

Thank GOD for that Dr, your good feeling about this Dr was right and I'm so happy that you requested an u/s!!!! Retained tissue caused the cramps and bleeding all this time, your body was trying so hard to take care of it... probably why the hcg hadn't totally dropped yet either. I know methotrexate can cause the horrible cramps and bleeding/spotting, but for as long as you have gone thru it... THANK GOODNESS for this appointment today!!!!

Can't wait to hear about everything else after you've had some sleep...

I am so sorry about your DH... have to say that I'm not excusing his crappy behavior or comments, but that he is probably dealing in his own way. Men are such different creatures than we are... definitely stitched together differently than we are. They internalize allot and take it out in ways that seem like they don't care because they're conditioned to not show much emotion when really they could be so torn up inside about everything. He may not express it the right way and I'm sorry he's being such a turd... but that he's dealing too honey, in his own way. He does need to know how much you need him and need to know that he's there for you, simply just "being" there isn't enough and that you'd like to know how he's truly feeling about everything. Probably just as terrified as you... So hang in there and in the mean time we will be here for you.

Chin up buttercup,

We ARE HERE FOR YOU!!!!

wow! so very glad they listened to you and gave you the u/s! i am sure as soon as that last little bit of tissues is gone you will see your levels go down to normal SO much faster! kup on all that.

yeah - dh's.... they are a breed unto their own. i think like to move on and move on quickly and when something like this drags on - they just dont know how to deal. i hope you and he are able to come together on this so you can both be the support to eachother you both need!

hugs hun~

Lisa,

I am glad you have some answers on why you are still cramping, spotting and your hcg levels aren't dropping. Honestly, I would have thought your ob/gyn would have ordered an ultrasound before now. I look forward to hearing about the rest of your appointment.

I asked him about an u/s and he said that they usually don't do one unless your number increases and mine hasn't increased.

D&C went fine. Dr. is sending the tissue off to make sure it isn't cancerous. I have to follow up with him in two weeks now.

I do have a question though!!!

He prescribed me Vicodin ES 7.5-750 mg.
1 tablet every 4 hours as needed.

I took one around 10 and it hasn't helped at all with the cramping. I don't know if it should help some or if this is normal. Not sure if this matters but I was cramping before I even went in for the D&C. Did anyone take any pain med. and not get relief? How much were you prescribed?

Forgot to add which may be TMI but it burns when I pee is that normal?

I think it's ok if you take another pain med about an hour or so after the first one if you are still in pain. I know I would. Just don't drive anywhere!! And have a pillow close by. Also, I don't remember it burning when I peed, I hope some of the other girls have some answers for you.

the only reason i know if burning when you pee is a UTI. are you peeing more then normal? getting the urge to pee a lot with only a little coming out? keep an eye on that. if it is a uti a simple antibiotic will clear it up but if you let it go in can head up into your kidneys.

Called OB department at the hospital b/c my Dr. office was closed for the day. They called my dr. I am now going to add 2-3 tablets 600 mg or so of Ibuprofin and he called in an antibiotic in case I have a bladder infection. Said I did have antibiotic through iv but is still calling some in! Going to take me a nap now or try to at least with a warm heating pad.

i dont know anything about a D&C but if they by chance did a cathader(sp?) during the procedure, then that would totally cause burning.

and take more meds if needed. you need to be comfortable.

SS for your loss *hugs*

So far I have taken since 10 am
3 vicodin extra strength (hydrocodone/Acetaminophen) 7.5-750 mg ea.
2 ibuprofen 600 mg. ea
1 antibiotic Keflex 500mg

None of it has helped. The only thing it has done is make me loopy.

*Ibuprofen was an old prescription from something else (not expired though) it says to take 1 every 8 hours
*Vicodin is 1 tablet every 4 hours

The nurse told me to alternate vicodin and 2-3 ibuprofen but I don't know if she meant every 2 hours , 4 hours, etc.

I don't want to OD on meds. Anyone know how much of what you can take and not OD?

So sorry you are still in so much pain. I had very little cramping or pain after my d&c. It sounds like he may have done a biopsy, too - which my sister said caused a lot of cramping. You might try a heating pad or hot water bottle - it usually helps me when my cramps are so bad.

I hope you feel better soon

That could be a good possibility. I know there really wasn't a whole lot of tissue that he had to take out so you wouldn't think I would be in this much pain.

I was cramping really bad this morning before I even went in though.

Lisa did they cath you? That can cause the burning when you pee

As far as the vicodin, if I'm not mistaken you can 1-2 every 4 hours... if it hasn't helped in 3hrs then try taking the 1, 800mg ibuprophen and see if that gives you any relief. (only 1 800mg per 8hrs tho... all those can be harsh on your tummy so eat something) Any fever, heavy bleeding, I would definitely not hesitate to go to the ER. They gave you a discharge sheet with what to look out for and expect right?

I'm sorry you're in so much pain
