Is your doctor/OB etc.. male or female?
I go to an all female practice. Two female doctors and two female midwives.

Over the years I've seen both. Before we moved here, I had a female and I really liked her. She was wonderful and listened to me and would explain things and never made me feel rushed. I'd still be seeing her if we hadn't moved. Now I have a male and I really like him. I had not found an ob yet, but had to go to the ER for bleeding and he is who they scheduled my follow up with. I was surprised at how much I liked him. He also listens to us and gives us time to think of any questions before he leaves. If he isn't my favorite so far then he ties for favorite with my last doc.

I see a female and really love her. She has a young daughter (2 yr. old) and I think it makes a huge difference. She listens will give me options in regards to treatment paths. She referred me to my current endocrinologist and hematoligist. I love my endocrinoligist. I haven't seen the hematoligist yet, but I see him on the 1st.

I go to a group where there are 5 female ob/gyn, I see one Dr primarily but if she is busy I would see one of the others. My family physician is also a female Dr.

My GP and my RE are female. I prefer it if I have a choice. I wouldn't go to a mechanic that doesn't own a car and I prefer my Drs. to have the same parts that I do too. I know a woman will better understand when I talk about cramping, or pulling or pinching etc.
