Just wanted to ask what the purpose of aspirin is and if I should try this to prevent miscarriage? Does anyone know exactly what it does?
I have an appt with my OB dr for my cyst on Thurs. This is my chance to ask all my questions. I need help coming up with the right questions to ask. Should I ask him about clomid? I want him to test my progesterone levels. He had told the nurse that he didnt feel inclined to test for this with my false positive I got a few mths back. I have no idea why. But I think its a pretty simple step we should take just to be sure that isnt what caused my last one. Not that I am having weird cycles I am really wondering if this is it. I so dont want to go through another and then find out later this was it. Ya know? I just want to do whatever we can to prevent another miscarriage.

I am on Apsirin for a clotting disorder... Aspirin can cause eggs to lutenize and not release... (Thanks for the info Lori).... So it is not something you should just start on.. Thier is no real study that baby aspirin can help reduce M/C... UNLESS you have a clotting disorder.. and even then the studies are mixed....
If it is something you are thinking about talk to you Dr.. Yes it is only a baby aspirin.. but it is a blood thiner.. and can cause other health conditions.

what Kary said... also, actually if you're on a regular long term usage of aspirin, NSAID's it can cause your eggs to luetinize so ya don't start a baby aspirin regimen if you don't need to.

Good to know. Thanks.
I always thought it helped to thicken the lining of the uterus.

That's been my problem. My last two cycles have been 9 weeks long.
I started on extra B vitamins and folic acid along with my regular prenatal.

hope you don't mind me popping in here. After having 3 kids I suffered 3 m/c last year and after tons and tons of tests everything came back perfectly normal except for my FSH levels. So the diagnosis was poor egg quality due to my age. The RE put me on Baby Aspirin, Vitamin E, an Progesterone supplements after I O'd. I also took a mega doseof Folic Acid. I can't tell you if any of it helped but I think a lot of dr.s put you on Baby Aspirin for recurrent m/c. I am almost 17 weeks pg now and am still taking the Baby Aspirin and Vitamin E until 36 weeks.
You really need to speak to your dr. about it to see if it's right for you.
Sending you tons of baby dust!!!

Thanks Trish. I will for sure be talking to my Dr on Thurs about everything. I doubt he will do anything. I really wish they would do testing with a M/C instead of waiting for the poor mom to have 3 before they decide to test when they could of tested the first time. That never makes since to me.
Thanks for all the good info.

Thanks! I still pop in here once in a while to check up on you girls and wish you all good luck!
I'm 37. I had 3 kids without any problems getting pg. and then it seemed like when I hit 35 things went downhill from there.
Good luck to you!

Thanks Trish. I'm 41. I had 3 amazing, hassle free no problem pregnancies and then bam...a loss with #4. My age does concern me more than I let on.

I had 2 very easy pregnancies as well and they both happened on the first try. The 3rd time it took forever to get PG then we had a loss. It has been a 2 yr journey for this one and still waiting. Its weird how someone can have no problems then all of the sudden problems hit. I do know with my first marriage we tried for 8yrs with nothing but my current marriage was a breeze until now.

May I butt in and ask a related question? My doc put me on BA. I started it about a month ago. I have been taking one daily, AND I really think that I did not ovulate during this cycle. I ALWAYS have mittelschmerz (ovulation pain) but I did not get it when expected, or at all, this cycle. This, of course, worried the you-know-what out of me. I don't need ovulation problems on top of what has already happened. Should I only take the BA after ovulation?
