I have a question....

Do your levels have to be ZERO again before your body will conceive? How does that all work?

From everything I read... YES.. But you will have people say.. no your levels don't have to zero. But from everything I have read... You will not Ovulate when you HCG in your system... But also.. you can Ovulate ANYtime after you levels hit zero, While most people will ovulate 14 days after the levels hit zero.... It is not unheard of to ovulate within days of those levels reaching 0.

I had that same questions because my loss was a week and a half ago and last monday(Feb 15th) my level was 2.4. I would hope by now it would be zero. Do any of you know how long it takes to get to zero?

I had read the same thing as Kary, and it is also what my doctor told me. But my levels were taking a long time to drop and when they did an u/s to look for retained tissue, they saw a 12 mm follie. My levels at the time were 15. I ovulated (as indicated by CM, positive OPK, and BBT, so no progesterone check) 5 days later. My levels that week were 10. AF showed up 2 weeks later as I expected, which was the week my levels went below 5. Soooo, I don't know anymore. I really believe I O'd with a small amount of hcg in my system. I have read a couple things that said you can O anytime after your levels are below 25. My levels were below 25 but above 5 for almost 6 weeks.

I have talked to a couple ppl that were getting weekly bloodtests done to check hcg and they ended up getting preg. before ever going back to neg. That means they would have O'ed before reaching neg.

Hollann- If you are at 2.4 you are prob. neg. HCG is neg when it is less than 5. Some dr. offices it is less than 2. I would say that you are neg. It varies though about how long it takes. I am still not neg. and it will be 10weeks tomorrow since I was induced. Mine is tkaing a long time to get to neg. b/c I had a partial molar preg.

Momwithsmiles- It has been 10weeks since I m/c and I am still getting positive tests at home. My hcg was 188 on 2/11 or so. I had to get a D&C on friday b/c I still had some tissue left.
