I posted this in the aspirin thread started by another member, but I think that thread is dead now.
May I butt in and ask a related question? My doc put me on BA. I started it about a month ago. I have been taking one daily, AND I really think that I did not ovulate during this cycle. I ALWAYS have mittelschmerz (ovulation pain) but I did not get it when expected, or at all, this cycle. This, of course, worried the you-know-what out of me. I don't need ovulation problems on top of what has already happened. Should I only take the BA after ovulation?

Why did you Dr put you on Baby Aspirin????
I was told to take a Baby Aspirin, since I have a clotting issue... But I am safe from blood clots, but invetro... they are not sure... So that is why I started it After I Ovulated so this way.... thier was no chance of my eggs luetinizing and by the time of Implantation (If it was going to happen) The baby Aspirin would already be in my system.
If your Dr put you on it for a specific reason.. I wouldn't stop it.

Clotting issues for YOU.... or invitro...
If YOU have clotting issues.. I would stay on it..
I went to a hematologist... and he reviewed all of my bloodwork.. While Yes I have the MTHFR mutation.. I have NO other risk factors.. so that is why I took the chance to go off of it for those two weeks. I know lots of ladies who have gotten thier BFP's while being on baby Aspirin..
I just don't know if I would stop it.. unless you are sure YOU are not at any risk.

Thanks Kary--the doc didn't say anything about starting it after ovulation. She just said to start it. She suspects my clotting issues is what has caused my chemical pregnancy losses. (I am not doing invitro)

I am sorry... I should have explained a little better.. when I say invitro.. I mean the baby has clotting issues (invitro) in the womb. If they didn't run the tests to check and she just said to start it... It would be up to you.. if you want to start it after Ovulation...

HUGS hun. I was on BA for my last two BFPs. I'm on it all the time, not just after ovulation. If your Dr. didn't recommend a specific time frame only, then I'd do it all month. Are you charting or taking OPKs? Maybe you did ovulate, it just wasn't as noticeable this time? I wouldn't imagine how the BA would affect that, but I wouldn't stop taking the BA without discussing it with your Dr.

Definitely talk to your dr..........before you change your course of taking BA. For me, I was on it for 4months straight, every day, and the last two cylces were monitored by the RE, confirming that my eggs were lutenizing...meaning they did not release, just got nice and ripe and died. I researched long term use of aspirn, and found out this MIGHT cause you to not REALLY ovulate....only way to know for sure is to be monitored by a dr. during your cycle. I was getting positive opks, charting and getting temp spikes after suspected ovulation, progesterone got nice and high, but an egg never came out. I stopped the BA until I o'd the next cycle and got pg that cycle. This very well could of been coinsidence (msp), I will never really know. I was not monitored that last cycle, just decided that it was worth a shot to stop it. I however do not have a clotting disorder, was on it as standard protocal by my RE's office.......

Farasha,
I am a mad-charter! The chart (software) says that I O'd, but I didn't have the amount of fertile CM that I usually have and I didn't have any ovulation pain (as mentioned above). My temps spiked and all that, but I am still suspecting that I didn't actually O.
Mom 4,
I will actually be seeing my doc today, so I'll bring this up.

Alrightee, so doc says no prob if I only want to take the BA after ovulation.
Brandy, from what I understand it is possible to have all of the "signs" of ovulation without having actually ovulated.
