We had a friend of my DH's who friend was needing to find a home for an 8 wk old red and blue nose pitt bull.. She said she was thin and needed a good loving family, so DH and I talked and decided to bring her home with us.. She is adorable.. My son loves her already... My parents aren't happy about it being a pitt because one of my moms co workers his pitt attacked his 3 yr old daughter but right now she is a puppy so I don't think it would hurt.. So here are some pics.. My JM family meet a new member of my family..Miss Destiny!!!!!

She is adorable. Congrats and how wonderful that you took her in. Good for you.
As a huge animal advocate and prior foster/rescue mom who has worked with many breeds I can tell you that I personally believe that in the case of the Pit bull it's not the breed it's the people who raise them that have given them a bad rap. Just my opinion. We love pits! They rock

She is adorable. Make sure that you bring her up with lots of love like this little pup were your child also train her well. A well trained dog that is loved never attack. I have a neighbor that has a pitbull and she is hyper as all get out but a very nice dog. She will let you know if she feels threatened. I really do not go near as she jumps on you and I do not have this husky voice to tell her no. My DH has it and she obeys him. Sorry if I added more to this message than you might care to read. Good Luck with the upbringing of the adorable puppy.

I second the pitts not being a bad breed. It's the people who make them bad. Any individual dog could be an issue, but not the entire breed. She's beautiful!! Just teach her early and teach her often. Pitss are very strong willed.

She is adorable, and she looks like a sweetheart! I wouldn't have been able to resist her either. I love that red coloring.
I think with all breeds, it's a matter of training. We have two chihuahuas, and almost everyone I tell says something like "oh I hate those yappy things". Our two, do not yap, bark, bite, etc. They've been trained from day one that's NOT acceptable, and our girls are very friendly, love kids and new people, new dogs, even the mailman has given me compliments on how well behaved they are. We also crate train, and I think that has made a huge difference. They consider it a safe place, and will sleep there on their own occasionally.

I totally agree... Pitt bulls were given a bad rep. They really are sweet dogs.. We have tons of friends that have pitts, and actually DH had another one he raised from a puppy up with one of his best friends, and he turned out to be a great dog.. Thanks everyone... I found all the advice helpful.. Does anyone have any advice on the whole getting her to pee outside and not in my house on rugs or anything??

If you find that she just ate or woke up from a nap that you can take her outside and praise her loads that she went outside. I raised a sweet labrador when I was 18 yrs old and that is what I did. I also reprimanded her I caught her at the right time and carried her outside and set her down to let her do her bathroom duty.

My grandfather always had Pitts when I was younger. Most of them were really the nicest dogs. He had one that was so mean, but he had rescued it when it was older so who knows what that dog had been through. I really believe that it is a lot in how you raise them!
She is so cute!!!! CONGRATS
