to have children that should not. I really hate my job sometimes and Im not one to judge... However... As some know, I work for a Pediatrician... We have this newborn in the hospital where her meconium just came back positive for opiates. Now we are calling in CPS to meet here with the parents. I also just found out the parents have three more children all of which have been removed from their custody.. Why and or how on earth can you do this to your child.. I gave up diet coke and my extra gum when I found out I was pregnant because of the aspertame and your popping pills and smoking pot and already had children taken from you.. My heart breaks for this baby.

It is really really sad, I know. I worked in Early Intervention for 8 years and saw some awful stuff. I also just watched the movie Precious today and I just wanted to take that baby out of that house! It was so sad. It is one of the great mysteries why some can just pop kids out every five minutes and so many good, loving parents to be have to go through so much!!

It's frustrating I know hun. I work at Kmart and you'd be surprised how many huge families I see all looking really dirty and paying with foodstamps in my line. I look at the mom and she's pregnant again. Some days I feel like running out of there and just about do when my shift is over. At least we know we'll be good, responsible parents when it does happen.

I do not know why that happens... not everything in this world is fair.. but it is very sad

This is my exact frustration. I work with moms that have had other children removed from their custody and they just keep having babies without any effort. It's so hard to deal with my loss and work with these women without wanting to rip their heads off.

I cannot even go there in my head because it is just too frustrating and it makes me too sad. I would prefer to pretend that none of those people exist and babies are only born to people who want them, love them, and take good care of them.
