Hi Gals!
I know I haven't been here in FOREVER and I really do apologize for that gals. I haven't heard (read) who's gotten their bfp's and graduated to the "next level." If you would, could you fill me in on that as well as my next question? I want to congratulate all of our "graduates!"
DH has been really sick with his Crohn's disease. We FINALLY go the "go ahead" to TTC again. I usually use Pregnology.com to calculate my fertility dates, no temping, charting, etc.
BUT, this month I want to buy OPK's because pregnology says I'm ovulating on Tuesday of next week. Since we can finally TTC again, I was wondering from you gals what brand I should buy. I am clueless?!?! I know it will be each person's own opinion, but I highly value the input. I REALLY want to get my BFP (as we all do) and I'm sick of waiting LoL! Please let me know (and why if you can) which OPK brand is the best. I live in the USA in Illinois, so I have a Walgreens & Wal-Mart open 24 hours and I want to get some TONIGHT.
Thank you in advance!!!
Michelle T.
oh, here is a link to my pregnology thing (since my tickers are probably all wrong!!)....

Hi Michelle. Welcome back to TTCAL.

I can't help you on OPK brands from stores. I usually get mine from early-pregnancy-tests.com. Maybe some other girls will have ideas on store brands.

I usually start using the OPKs 4 days or so before my earliest anticipated ovulation date. I usually just do once a day, when I get home from work- and I try not to drink or pee for at least 4 hours before that. Some of the girls do twice a day to make sure they catch the surge. Once a day has usually worked for me (I also check for fertile CM).

I would start BDing now for a Tuesday O, every other day, or every day if you can keep it up Good luck catching the egg!

Hi...I am relatively new here but I can say that there have been a few folks with bfp's....a really exciting one would be Kary...the co host and I believe she is having TWINS! I know there are a lot of women who are in the 2WW and waiting to ovulate right now. Scroll down on the posts and you will see some of the threads.

Good luck to you! I really don't have advice on which brands to buy...someone else might know that better! Good luck!

Thank you both for the welcome back's! Nicole, I know how to check my CM, but how can you tell when it is "most fertile?" Is it all sticky and stuff? DH said he only wants to BD Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. That's why I want to get these OPK's and say "HEY, that's not gonna work babe!" Hopefully we can BD more than just around Tuesday....wink, wink!

Non-fertile CM is creamy and whitish. As you get closer to ovulation, the CM may first become clear and watery, then when you are very close to ovulation, it becomes clear, stretchy, and slippery, like egg whites. It is called egg white cervical mucus (EWCM). When you see watery or EWCM, you should BD. After ovulation, your CM will either dry up completely or go back to creamy.

Michelle!!!! WELCOME BACK!!!!!!! It has been a while!!!!

This website is great to answer some of your questions...
Pee On A Stick ~ OPK Overview

I always ordered mine off ebay.... the cheapest....

You want to do afternoon urine... If you have 28 a day cycle you want to start to test.. on cd11... 27 day cd10 26 cd9..... but that all that is on the website under the FAQ.... When the line starts to get darker.. you might want to start testing twice to three times aday so you don't miss your surge!!!

If you have any more questions... Please PM me.. or ask here!!!

WELCOME BACK Michelle

Glad you've gotten the go ahead to TTC again hooray!!!

OPK's are awesome, but can be a little confusing at first... the website Kary posted has some really good visuals on what is positive and what is not. Also you can get a free Fertility Friend account which can help you as well... you can use the OPK method of tracking your fertility and FF will help pinpoint when you've ovulated as well as when you should test.

I'm sorry to hear your DH has Crohn's, hope he is doing well and it's under control or manged well.

Again welcome back Michelle!!!
