I'm having a second m/c, so i'm starting to kinda be on guard for future pregnancy.

The doc took a tissue sample for them to do wahtever testing in the lab. I'll probably look at the report when I go back Monday for a follow up. My last m/c was right before we concieved DD. I might have m/c another time in the last 6 months, but to be honest, I never took a test so I don't care to know.

I'm not sure what this all means. We'd really like another child, but I really do kind of fear for fertility. I know my hormones are REALLy out of wack, but to my knowledge the doctors has never really checked my hormone levels. I've had my thyroid checked once, and it was normal. My cholesteral was a tad high was the only alarming thing on the report. I've had u/s to rule out cysts and fibroids. I've wondered about endometriosis based on my violent cycles - but the doc said he doesn't think so. I'm following up with another doctor Monday, so I'm going to ask her opinion on the matter. I'm also wondering if my uterus is shaped funny. I had a tilted uterus with DD. But after I had her, I said the only known "issue" is that I have a tilted uterus. The doctor looked at me funny and said "it is in the right position, what do you mean?" (this was a new doctor BTW). My mom had at least 3 known m/c. I think they were related to her IUD, smoking, drinking, and fibroids. My family isn't that forthcoming about fertility issues or reproductive health, so I'm concerned about the unknown. We do want to have one more child. So, I do want to make sure if there is a problem we know what it is, so we don't keep having m/c. I mean, if there is a problem I'd like to know. If there isn't fine. But when we're ready to TTC I want to avoid any heartache or unnecceasry problems. I think this m/c is related to the amount of medicine I've been taking the last 6 weeks, since conception, between a sprained wrist and wisdom tooth extraction. I don't know - I'm rambling. I just really want to make sure there isn't anything wrong hormonally or structurally with me that is causing m/c. I'm just not even sure where to begin asking questions to my OB.

I'm so sorry about your losses, and all the emotions you're going thru right now. Please don't blame yourself or the meds you've been taking as the reason as to why you've had this loss. From personal experience, I'm on meds for fibromyalgia some of which are pain meds as well and my perinatologist, OB's and other Dr's said they're ok. Sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks and babies are 110% healthy & fine.

Ask at your follow-up appt to see if they could run a panel of tests like thyroid, horome levels and such. Explain your cycles and tell them about everything you can think of so that perhaps they can rule things out... an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) might be your next step due to recurrant miscarriages.

BTW to TTCAL...

I'm glad that you feel comfortable enough to join us here and hope that we can help you in your journey! I am so very sorry about the loss you're going thru right now. There's some good articles in the Pregnancy Loss & TTCAL Info Spot subforum up top that might help you right now along with all the wonderful ladies here

I'm so sorry for your losses.

Sometimes m/c just happens and I hope that is the case for you and it never happens again. I've had three losses, 2 in the first trimester and 1 in the 2nd trimester, none were related. I just have had really bad luck.
