Had my appt. today. Doctors (had about 4 ppl in there) said that up until this last week I was dropping appropriately. They want it to drop by at least 20% each time. My bw on Monday had only dropped by 17%. They also mentioned that they normally don't start chemo until you plateau or drop less than 20% two weeks in a row but it is fine that my dr. started earlier. It actually helped it come down quicker b/c of it. I have an appt. to go back April 14. If I have a drop less than 20% they will see me sooner and will either start the methotrexate again or switch to ACT-D. I wish they would just start it now though! I hate waiting. I wish is was Monday already so I could get my bw done.

They have also now changed my waiting time to 6 months once I reach neg. (I can guarantee that I won't wait that long) I went ahead and had an IUD put in. Once I reach neg. though I am getting it taken out. I almost wish I didn't get it b/c now I am bleeding again and am cramping. Has anyone else had one before? Is that normal?

Forgot to mention this! DH told me today that he isn't going to be laid off next month. They may switch him to midnights though. So he would work like 11-7. Now as far as May goes who knows.

Hugs Lisa. I hope all of this clears up for you soon. Also good news about your DH job. I guess it is better to have a job than no job at all even if it is the night shift.

Well he isn't certain it will be midnights but he is currently working from 7pm - 3am so it would be a better shift. He is taking classes from 8am-11am. I just hope they don't decide to lay him off in May or June, etc.

I am sorry that you are having such a rough time hun.. I hope that your numbers go down quickly and you can start trying again soon.. If I was you though I would go ahead and have the Mirena IUD removed cause it does have hormones in it.. You can also check out the TTC after IUd Removal group. I was on there for a little while.

Lisa, your appointment sounds like it went pretty well. It seems like they know what they are doing and are going to stay on top of it. And that is GREAT news about DH!! I hope that things keep going better for you, and you drop to negative quickly without treatment. I hope you're feeling a little better about the situation now.

I don't have any experience with IUDs, but I hope your bleeding and cramping stops soon.

Lisa I'm so glad you got into this gynacological oncologist! Altho it may not have been the best outcome that you've anticipated it wasn't a total bust. Your numbers are close to twenty percent which has to account for something... I pray to GOD that everything resolves naturally. The long term effects of the chemo can be very taxing and irreversable, so try to be as patience as you can be... as hard, long and frustrating all that you've been thru has been it unfortunately is taking it's time.

As I may not know exactly how or what you're going thru because I'm not going thru it, but I do know when you just want something to be over so you can move on, move forward and try again... it's a aweful nagging, frustrating feeling. I'm so sorry Lisa. Just pray that this resolves as naturally as it can from here on out, but quicker as well so that you can get the peace you so very much want.
