This is the first time I have used OPK's. Im not sure how my cycles will work so I began using them around CD 8 just to track and see. I have used them with fmu, smu, noonish, evening and right before bed. Every time there is the same faint line but no change at all. Im now on CD 15. Will you start to see a change in the test line as you get closer or will the line just pop? According to my instructions it just says any urine sample. I have the Wondfo brand. Is there a better time to test using these? I dont temp so this is all I am using. My cycles before my m/c would range anywhere from 28-32 days so I may just be testing to early.

Becca,

I'm new at this OPK stuff too. I test with urine around noon time (so it's definitely not first morning). I know everyone swears and tests differently with different times of day for urine.

I'd just keep testing with the OPK's. I think the line just pops and is suddenly dark when you catch a positive.

It's so tricky! I went ahead a bought a clearblue easy fertility monitor which I'm going to use in conjunction with my OPK's next month, if I don't catch it this month

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure it just pops. I swear I'm about to O, I've had TONS of EWCM and I am having horrible cramps but I still haven't gotten a positive OPK. It hasn't even gotten any darker... I've taken two today already lol

My line got a little darker than the faint line but never as dark as the control line, so I guess I missed the surge when testing on the OPK. If I don't catch an egg this time, I am going to start testing twice a day starting CD 12 . Going to test at 11am and 6pm so hopefully I catch the surge on test strips.

Here is a website that will show you pictures of progressions to give you an idea.. they also have a great FAQ section..

POAS ~ OPK FAQ

If you are testing one time a day... it could be you missed your surge.

OK so for ME....I use CBE and the line starts to get darker as I get closer to O. I have had them get dark and ALMOST positive, only to go back to light again. I ended up Oing a week later.

I also typically test the SAME TIME in the late afternoon (around 3-4) and hold my pee 4 hours before. When they start to get darker, I test 2 times a day. For me I use FMU and then late afternoon.

I ALWAYS get my first positive OPK with FMU. So tho many people will say not to test with FMU...it is different for everyone.

Once I get the first pos...I personally continue to test 2 times a day until its negative. I try to BD the day before the pos (when its getting dark) the two days I get a positive, and the next day. Doing this...I have gotten pregnant 3/4 times (the one time it didn't work was the cycle of my m/c....I may not have actually O'd). One successful pregnancy...two m/c.

Good luck!!!

Katie
