Anyone else experience much lighter periods after d&c? Before d&c, I used to have at least 1 day of heavy bleeding.

It has been 3 months since my d&c. My cycles have ranged from 30 to 35 days. All have been light.
I just got my period this past Friday and it was just a medium flow. On Saturday, Sunday, and today, I've just been spotting dark brown blood (sorry tmi).

At first, I thought this was a Godsend! Now, I'm super worried that this is a bad sign, like an indication of low progesterone! anyone else going thru the same thing and knows what the deal is??

I'm not really sure if it's a good sign or a bad sign but I've had quite the opposite since my D&C in November. I used to have three days of spotting, three days of bleeding (moderate) and then a day or two of spotting. After my D&C I don't have my spotting days anymore in the beginning (which I hate) but I start heavy and stay heavy for about 5 days and then spot at the end another 3-4 days. By heavy I mean I can soak a super tampon and a pad in about an hour or two. I've even had to leave work because I bled through my scrub pants. Yuck.

I have been wondering the same about myself just with the opposite problem. I'm curious to see other people's input...

I've only had one AF since my D&E and it was way lighter than normal, one day of spotting one day of light flow and 2 more days of spotting. My periods have always been light but not that light...

FWIW, My OB said to expect my periods to be different for a while after the D&C. Given mine only used to last a day I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to the next one or dreading it!

thx for the feedback girls. I called my OB, and he said that my lighter periods are no cause for concern and that I should just keep trying. I asked if I should go on progesterone and he said no. *shrugs* gotta trust the doctor, right?

Aitch - yup, my OB said the same thing. D&C cleans you out so it could cause lighter periods. I just thought that my cycles would normalize by now.

Jessica - wish I remembered to ask my OB about heavy flows. If I were you, definitely give your OB a call! good luck!

Given my incredibly light periods before, OB said they could actually be heavier for a while which seems counter intuitive. He just wanted me to be aware that they'd likely be different, whichever way that went.

All I'd say is don't panic - I thought I'd never even get pregnant as my periods were almost non existent before.

I haven't personally had a D&C, but my daughter had one after her loss in May/June last year. She had been terribly irregular since first getting her period as a teen. She also had long and painful periods. After her D&C, she has been very regular and they have been shorter and less painful for her.
