Hi ladies,
My name is Judy. I am 30 and me and DH (also 30) had been TTC since our wedding in late October. We got a BFP March 10 and were ecstatic! Unfortunately I am currently having a m/c... or rather the actual m/c started on Saturday and culminated on Sunday (naturally). I was 6 weeks but I think the baby was only 5 because it must have stopped developing a week ago when I lost my symptoms.
On Sunday morning (like 1 am) my beta was 1160.. by Monday morning it was 520. The u/s on Monday morning showed an empty uterus.
Physically I am ok but of course I'm devastated.
We are eager to TTC again and my question to you ladies is when were you all cleared to TTC again? The nurse told me to wait one cycle before TTC.. do you know why they recommend this? Is it to let the lining build up?
Also, I am still bleeding and want it to stop. It's just a constant reminder of what happened (not that I'd forget it otherwise or anything). It hasn't been long actually I guess.. my AF is usually 5 days and so far I've been bleeding since Saturday night, so it's been 3 days.. but when can I expect it to stop?
Thanks!
Good luck to you ladies in TTC!

I had to have a D&C with my first loss and I really only had spotting for a few days. My second loss was natural and I bled for about a week. As for how long to wait after a m/c doctors tell you different things. My one doctor said to wait 1 cycle so we could date the next pregnancy. But she did say that there is no medical reason to wait, your body will not get pregnant again if its not ready. Hugs hun. I am sorry for your loss and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

I am sorry for your loss hun. I had a natural delivery of our son at 20 week gestation. I bled for about 1.5-2 weeks after that.
I agree with Shortcake that the body will get pregnant when it is ready to be not before. Yes it is easier to pinpoint conception date when you know your period started most recent. So you can start TTC anytime you want.
Me and DH waited 1 full cycle before we started TTC again.
Good Luck with your TTC journey!

So sorry for your loss.
I think every *body* is different with the bleeding. I hope it stops soon for you. As for TTC again I didn't wait. My OB wanted me to wait 3 cycles...we were having sex 5 days later. So I think it's just a personal choice and how you feel emotionally and physically.
Best of luck to you

Thank you so much.. I don't think dating the pregnancy would be a problem because I chart and know when I ovulate.
I hope I am able to DTD soon, just have to wait for the bleeding to stop.

Hi, Im sorry that you have to go through this. I suffered my loss on Feb 10th at 7w4d, and bled for 3 days, heavy and then just had a browninsh discharge for another 3. My Dr suggested waiting 1 cycle bedore ttc. Im glad I did because 28 days later af came with a vengance. Heavy, clotting etc, totally not normal for me. I think it was my body just basically cleaning house. Then I ended up ovulating on cd4! Anyway, thats just my story, everyone is so different, and I agree, your body will only allow a pregnancy when its ready. Good luck on your journey, I hope your stay here is short!

Welcome to the board. I had a natural mc at 10 weeks and I bled for 8 weeks after. My Dr told me we could TTC again right away.

I am so sorry....really. As to the bleeding and after that....I bled for about the same amount of time with my miscarriages as I did with a normal period. I bled harder, but it was the same duration. I have tried right after I had my miscarriages to get pregnant but all three times my body did not allow it right after. I have had to wait one cycle and then get that bfp. I am not sure why I continue to miscarry, but it just keeps happening. But, after that I will say that it is possible to get pregnant just weeks after having a miscarriage because I have seen it more than once on here. There was one lady that had a miscarriage in feb and then got her bfp in mar and she is still happily pregnant. So anything is possible....good luck!

Hi Judy. So sad to see you here too.
My m/c started on Thursday last week and I'm already only spotting, not even enough for a pad today. And we DTD yesterday. I know what you mean about wanting the bleeding to end. I was like that too. My HCG was really high though (6500), so for a few days I still had symptoms and am still testing positive on HPTs.
I too want to start trying right away and since I haven't had a follow up with my doc yet, I don't know if he'll want me to wait or say it's OK to start right away.

Thank you for all the info you ladies have shared. I have heard a lot of ladies saying elsewhere also that the body won't get pregnant before it's ready - so there's no harm in trying right away I guess..
I am sorry we are all here but it's so great that we can support and help each other
Rachel I am sorry to see you here too.. I started spotting/bleeding on Saturday so only a few days after you.

Welcome, and so sorry for your loss
I'm Katie, and I had a loss in Jan at 5 weeks. I bled for 8 days. In March, I tested positive..then my period started the next day ("chemical" pregnancy) and that period/miscarriage was 6 days and lighter than normal.
Yes all bodies are different regarding the bleeding. My postpartum bleeding with my DD was 8 weeks while others only bleed a couple. I do hope yours will end soon.'
OH and when to try again....every doc will tell you different. My OB nurse said just to wait until my next period came. Then my new GP told me 3 cycles! LOL. We don't wait. I'm 30 and I want 2-3 more kids so I'm not wasting time!! ha ha.
Good luck..I hope your stay here is short and sweet.

Thanks again.. I am so glad we have each other!
On a side note, I tested today and still BFP.. Go away HCG, go away! My bleeding is almost gone and we're kind of itching to DTD..

Judy I'm so sorry for your loss.
My loss was close to 10 weeks and I didn't have a DNC. I spotted for a few days before the m/c and bled for about a week after. AF showed up 23 days after my m/c. I was also told to wait until after AF to TTC.
If you're feeling good and you want to TTC right away (and there's no medical reason to wait) then you should go for it!
