Msg from the specialist I emailed.
Lisa, You should continue to receive weekly MTX injections until your hCG level is undetectable. After you have three undetectable levels at weekly intervals, you should be tested monthly for 12 months. You should not try to get pregnant for a year (12 months) after you complete your treatments because of the risk of recurrence. If your physician has any questions regarding your management, I would be happy to talk with him.
I normally do not recommend IUD insertion until after the patient has a negative hCG test because of the risk of infection or perforation due to tumor. However, if it's in place and you are doing well I wouldn't remove it . DPG
So I got my results this morning and my result was 39.74
I have no idea what to do now. Dr. Goldstein (not my dr. I just emailed him about it) said that I still need the injections. I called the gynecologist oncologist and I am still waiting to hear back from them. I told them my numbers but they are going to wait to decide what treatment I need when they get the faxed result. If I have them contact Dr. Goldstein I have a bad feeling that they will change my wait time to TTC to 12 months. I don't want that. 6 months is bad enough.
*** On a good note my reg. OBGYN said they could do my bw for $13 if I don't get my ins. reinstated. That is a huge plus b/c it looks like I am going to have to get it next week afterall.
Diagnosis: PMP – XXY

Wow Lisa.
Well..first of all the #s do seem to be going down...thats great.
As far as TTC...that is just one opinion. I would personally (if possible) get a few opinions and then make a decision.
I am so so sorry this is happening. I hope your levels drop asap!

Lisa, Im so sorry for the news you recieved, this must be devestating on you and your husband. For what its worth, another opinion from another oncologist might be in order. But I trully feel that an oncologist is the only type of opinion that is in your best interest here. No other dr. can give you an educated decsion on what the likely hood of reacurrance is. This opinion comes from a long history of cancer myself, and only an oncologist can determine what the risks are involved with your situation. Please do seek a second opinion, I trully belive in them. (Ive had several opinions on conveiving after my cancer, and one of my dr.'s did not want me to ever conceive again) Im praying for maybe a better outcome for you, as I know your heart will not trully heal until you get a baby in your arms.

Just spoke to the oncologist and they are going to start ACT-D now. I am scared our of my mind right now. Not really sure what to think about it all.

I am going tomorrow to get bw done. Hoping they will do treatment tomorrow so I don't have to make another trip this week. It is a 2 hour drive (4 hours total)
