Bleeding/period after D&C

I had a D&C yesterday at 15 weeks pregnant....I'm not having much bleeding today....I was just curious of anyone else who had a 2nd trimester D&C, how long did your bleeding last? and when did you get your first AF?

I have never had a D&C, thankfully, but I wanted to say how sorry I was you have even had to go through this. Hang in there...praying for you...

I had a D&C but at 9 weeks (7 weeks heart stopped beating).

My bleeding was minimal for the first few days then I had horrible, huge blood clots a around day 6. It lasted a day of heavy cottage cheese type clots and then it was gone.

My heart is so heavy for you. Hang in there.

I am very sorry for your loss.

I just went through this 3 weeks ago. I lost the Baby at 12 weeks 3 days. When we went to our NT Scan there was no heart beat. 2 days later I was scheduled for a D&C. The bleeding was very light the first two days and then heavy for a week. Then I spotted for an other week, so it took about 2 weeks total. Also the pain didn't start until 2 days after D&C. My belly went back to its normal size about 4 days later.

Megan I'm so sorry to hear about your loss

Most of the ladies that I've heard about their 2nd trimester D&C have varying amounts or bleeding afterwards... some have light bleeding, cramps and all the way to the spectrum of like a postpartum bleeding of up to 6 weeks. I'm sorry to be of no help, it seems to vary between ladies. Wish I could give you more answers.

I'm so sorry about your loss. I had a D&C after my missed m/c at 12w2d. I had very light bleeding for a couple days and then spotting for a couple weeks. My hcg levels didn't get to baseline, and I didn't get my next AF, for 11 weeks, though.

I hope your D&C recovery goes smoothly and quickly! Hugs.

I had a D&E at 15 weeks in february, I bled for about 2 weeks and I got my first AF 32 days afterwards.

I am sorry to hear about your cramping. It lasts for about 2-3 days. It really helps to take Motrin and if u can't take that take Tylenol. Also try to apply a warm/hot water bottel that helped me a lot.
