Hey ladies, I am requesting your expertise and knowledge on the subject of cervical mucus!

I'm on CD 13 (my cycles range from 30 to 35 days). After *ahem* peeing this morning, I noticed a big blob of clear mucus on the toilet paper after wiping. All day, my underwear has been dry... then tonight, I used an OPK, peed, wiped, and there was a bit of clear mucus on the toilet paper... however, the OPK result came out negative!

I'm confused! I thought that EWCM means that I'm close to ovulation or that it was the most fertile time?? For those who study their CM, when do you know that you're close to ovulation?

I'm no expert and I have no idea regarding timing of a positive OPK and the consistency of CM, but I do know that for me this last cycle (and I write everything down, every detail so I can track it ) for me....I had EWCM on CD11 with a negative OPK and then on CD12 I had a positive OPK with very little to no EWCM. I know every*body* is different, hopefully tomorrow you will get a positive OPK

I personally believe that EWCM means I'm fertile and getting ready to ovulate.

I know nothing about the cervical mucus, but I had to reply. Your comment "After *ahem* peeing this morning", made me laugh right out loud!! Just wanted to say "Thanks!!"

Egg white cervical mucus almost always means you are in your fertile "window." I usually have several days (4-5) of EWCM. I have been egg-whitey since CD 10. Now I am on CD 12 and my OPKs were negative yesterday and today, but I know I will O in the next couple of days. Depending on the OPK and the individual woman, a positive means you can expect to O in the next 12-48 hours.

I sometimes have EWCM for 4-5 days, but I only get a positive on OPKs the day before O. So that means I can have EWCM for 3-4 days with negative OPKs, but I am in my fertile window. I would think that you could ovulate soon. Good luck!

this past cycle I got a positive OPK about a day and a half after I noticed EWCM. hope that helps...

Last cycle I had EW CM on CD 13 but O only on CD 17....so I guess it was just showing that O was close.
