Do woman who miscarry naturally get AF back sooner than woman who have had a D&C? I have never miscarried natually and have only had one D&C so I have nothing to compare my experiences to. But I can't help but wonder if I had decided to let nature take its course and waited it out would I still be sitting here so many weeks later and still not have had a cycle? Or is it that every womans body is different and even for the same woman no two experiences are the same?? I guess the body decides when it is ready to start TTC again?? Sorry guess I'm having a tough time with all of this not being able to concieve even if I wanted to.........

I am sorry I don't know how long ago you had your D&C but my doc said it could take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to get AF back. And I also asked him if it would be better to let nature take its course and his answer was a clear NO. The risk of hemorrhaging is to great (I was 12 weeks 3days) and we should avoid that if we can.
HUGS
Sending u AF vibes.
P.S are u TTC already just wondering because I know someone that didn't wait after D&C and got BFP before they had their first AF.

Um. i only had once miscarriage... so with my one EXPERIENCE.. I wasnt too far along so naturally was an open option. i think when u get too far along. d&c's are usually ur only option. and i really dont think it makes a difference. i think ur AF comes back on its own , depending on the woman.. SORRY you're going through this. i remember waiting for my AF ugh it was a drag! but good luck sweetie. and if u need anyone to talk to you have the WHOLE ttac family!

I think everybody's body is just different, I had a natural mc at 10 weeks and bled for 8 weeks after, but I've also read other ladies experiences that have only bled for a week or two. I'm sorry that you're going through this, I know how hard and frustrating it is to wait when all you want to do is move on to TTC again.

i have had both. i miscarried at 11 weeks and had a d & c because my body had missed it. i got af 26 days after. this last time i miscarried at 9 weeks naturally and got af 25 days later. i realize i am probably the exception and am very lucky to have gotten af so regularly both times. with the natural miscarriage, i bled heavily for about a week and spotted litterally until af started and man it was a heavy one! good luck to you.

My first m/c was at 7w3d and my ObGYN really wanted to go with a D&C. I wanted it to go the natural way..I got AF 35 days later (my cycle is usually 30 days long). My second m/c was also natural and I got my AF very early (28 days).

I have had three losses...
My first was very early (a chemical) AF showed within 28 days my normal cycle.
My second was a d/c @ 8wks took 35 days for Af to from the date of the d/e.
My third loss... I chose to m/c naturaly... it took almost 5 weeks for my numbers to reach 0... than my cycle was longer than my normal 28 days.. it was about 31-32 for AF to show.
So I have to agree with you when you say ever woman is different along with every loss.. HUGS Sorry you have to go through this.. HUGS

I agree with the other girls that everyone is different.
I had a D&C and didn't get AF for 11 weeks, but my baby had stopped growing 3.5 weeks before my D&C and I had no signs of miscarrying yet, so who knows how long it would have taken my body to figure it out.
I hope AF shows soon for you and you can get to TTC again!

My first loss was at 12 weeks. I had to take medication inserted vaginally to start the m/c, since my dr. refused to do a d&c. I got AF exactly 4 weeks later. My cycle usually is 21-23 days, so this was the longest I've ever had (unless taking bcp). I think it really depends on your body and how fast your hcg drops. Mine dropped really quickly.
I hope AF showes for you soon!!!!

I have had 3 loses..all three were natural loses and within 28 days I had af on all three. I bled for only a week on all three. The first one was a chemical and that one was the lightest, and the 2nd one was the worst but I still only bled a week.
Good luck!

I miscarried somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks and everything happened naturally. I think it depends on how far along you were though. My period arrived about 5 weeks after my miscarriage. I'm sorry for your loss..

It's different every time...
My first loss last summer was natural and resolved itself on it's own 6wks3ds... got pg before af
My second loss was complicated (long story) was given methotrexate, nothing happened betas went up, ended up with 2 doses of cytotec before mc started and loss @ 5wks, got AF a week later than usual
My third loss just recently was tubal pregnancy loss which required methotrexate injections as well and I bled for almost 60 days finally got AF 04-01 (last AF was beginning of December before getting pg)

So sorry you are going through this and that you are still waiting on AF. Everyone is different. I have had 2 D&C and I got my cycle back within 28 days both times. I have never been able to have a natural m/c since I am to far along. As you can see by all the posts its all dependent on how long your body takes to get the hormones out. My dr said 4-6 is average but could be as long as 8 weeks. Good luck TTC.

I had a natural miscarriage at 11 wks. I got my first period after 35 days. However, I stopped ovulating. I didn't get that back until I started Clomid four months later.

Thanks Ladies for sharing your experiences! You are all an amazing bunch of woman! I guess all my complaining was for nothing. On the 3rd day of Provera I had some red blood and some of you ladies said to count that as CD1 you were right becuase now I am CD14 and I got my first + OPK!!! I am thrilled!! I hope this is our cycle but if its not I will just be happy if I get AF in 14 days!
