We were selected to adopt twin brothers from Siberia. One boy is "fine" the other has hydrocephaly. Which is no straanger to my husband and my self. It's going to cost us more than 20K to get both boys. I sooooo want kids, but what is your prospecive......? Should we TTC for more than should we go with the year or should we take the "given" and go with the 2 boys we want?

I say adopt. Maybe they will help take your mind off the whole stressfulness of ttc. Keep trying to ttc though. I think it would at least give you something else to think about every day.

Do both. I know people that got pregnant after they adopted. You will have the best of both worlds.

Twin boys--that sounds so sweet. I agree with the others, adopt and ttc! The more the merrier.

I'd say adopt the boys and then continue TTC!!! Many people get PG after they adopt.

Since you know what type of care you are looking at, and you have an idea of time frame, and how much it will cost. It sounds like all the basics are covered. If you adopt.. will you continue to TTC? Can you afford 20 grand? If you will not continue to ttc.. Are you ok with that? So many questions.. that only you and DH can answer.. I am not sure what I would do. Honestly. It is a tough choice to have a child that might need special care. (do you know how severe he is?) And to have another little one the same age. It will be tough.. But rewarding. They need love and a family. If you up to the challenge.. Than maybe this was ment to be! I wish you all the luck with this choice.. HUGS!!!

Right now we are waiting to see if funding is possible. We do know the severity of his hydrocephaly. Our dear Roman had it at birth. Baby is no where near the severity of Roman.
Right now it all depends on the funding. We should know early next week!!

We were turned down for funding. Our source had a financial loss and it was too great for us to borrow from. I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bummed.
I had a counselor's appt. today so at least I had someone to vent, cry, rant to other than DH. Dear Lord, I hope this is our cycle so I don't have two major disappointments in a month.....

You know Michelle I pray that if it's meant to be that it will work out and the source will more than likely be entirely unexpected.... <3 keep trying as well and don't limit yourself to a specific time. This is a sucky process and journey to go thru, but there's something wonderful in your future... keep your chin up buttercup and keep your eyes at the light at the end of the tunnel (or the pot of gold at the end of your rainbow, and you know rainbows happen after a storm )

Thanks Celena. I agree. I'm in a better mood now. Still slightly down but better.
