I just got my BFP Friday and today I noticed brown blood when I wiped. This is exactly what happened last m/c.(brown blood) I am not 100% sure what I am supposed to do at this point because the OBGYN office is closed and it is so early in the pregnancy. Would this be considered a chemical pregnancy? Do I go to the ER or wait until tomorrow and call the OB? Advice?

First of all, I am so sorry you are goig through this....

When I was pregnant with my middle son, I had light brown spotting until I was about 6 weeks pregnant. Your doctors office should have a beeper # or answering service for calls like this. Is that available to you?

Praying for you...

I just called the answering service and she said she would contact the doc and have her call me back. I am not sure she will remember me because the last time I saw her was for a follow up after my D&C post miscarriage. Thank you for your support, I really need it.

I am so sorry. I know how scary it is. Many women have spotting and go on to have a successful pregnancy. I hope your doctor contacts you soon. Try not to worry to much and maybe stay in the bed.. GL!

So sorry that you are having to deal with spotting again. Hopefully your doctor will contact you. She may tell you to at least come in tomorrow for blood work. Can you go to the hospital to at least get blood work done? Maybe when your dr. calls she can set it up for you.

HUGS.... Brown is old blood.. and it is ok... I had brown blood twice so far with this pregnancy. The first I think it was because I was "pushing too hard" to have a BM. The second time... I did NOTHING that I could think of that would of caused it. It was just a little.. I will be thinking of you...

Are you having any cramping?
Is it a lot of brown?

Things that can cause bleeding brown or red... Cervix irritation, "Old Blood" just working its way out of the cervix.. from past irritation or implantation bleeding. And some times.. people just bleed.

HUGS!

Thanks ladies, my doc still hasn't called back yet.

KaryRN,
It's just enough blood to show on the toilet paper after I wiped. I had just had a bowel movement so maybe that did it. (?) I've been cramping on and off the last few days but not severely. My breast have been tender but are not today so I am really confused at the moment.

Oh Tessa.... My Syptoms came and went, Some days I thought... OH God Here we go again... No syptoms... and then would get up the next day with bbs sore as H*ll, I really thought I was going to bruise my BBs by poking them so much....

I would just keep an eye on it.. If you just had a BM... That could of caused it. I know I am just one person... You can post over on PAL and I am sure... alot of ladies will give you a little peice of mind!! HUGS

Thanks for the positive thoughts and prayers my friends. I just got a callback fromt he office and the doc-on-call said to put my feet up, take tylenol for cramping and to call tomorrow to make an appointment. She said the spotting could be implantation spotting and not to be too worried about it. While I knew all of the above it still felt better to hear it from them. So I am lying in bed and just hanging loose for the rest of the day.

glad to hear you heard back from a dr. Just sit and watch tv today, do some puzzles: crossword, word search, etc., play cards something that you can just sit and do.

Tessa I'm sorry honey, but I agree with the ladies! Try not to stress it too much and try not to jump to conclusions yet... like you said you just had a bowel movement and the wall of the bowels is right there on the other side of the "wall".

It could be implatation blood working its way out, cervical irritation, constipation, etc...

I'm praying for you, but like your doc said take it easy and relax, kick your feet up and watch some good movies, read. "Modified" bedrest! Keep your head up, there's so many ladies that have had brown, or even red spotting / bleeding in the early triemester of pregnancy to go on and have a perfectly healthy babe

You're in my thoughts, my prayers

I hope you dont mind me posting as i am a lurker but I wanted to share what happened to me. I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd pregnancy on Dec 1st 2008. Pryor to finding out I was pregnant I had spotted and cramped 3 different times in Nov and I thought it was my af trying to start I never thought of pregnancy as we were not trying. After finding out I was pregnant that same day I was cramping real bad so I went to the local clinic and they did a preg test which was positive and after telling them of the pryor spotting and the cramping I had been having they told me to go see my Ob the next day. I ended up spotting bright red that night and went to the ER and they said my betas were not high enough to sustain a viable pregnancy and they were right. I started bleeding even heavier and I am pretty sure I passed the baby on Dec 4th early in the morning but it took until Dec 18th for my betas to go back down. between the 1st and 18th they went from 177 to somewhere in the 500's so I am thinking I either was preg with twins or just hadn't passed everything yet and that is what made my beta hcg levels jeep going up. After the m/c Dh and I decided to try again and 6 months later I became preggo again and was very worried that I would m/c again. When I was a little over 6 weeks preg i started bleeding bright red again after dh and I had dtd and it scared me but i tried not to freak out and i called the nurses line at the hospital where I was seeing the ob and they assured me that it was probably just my cervix bleeding from irritation where we had dtd and she was right. my bleeding stopped an I went on to have a healthy girl. Hang in there. I know it is hard not to be scared and worry but many people have had bleeding and had healthy babies. I wish you the best and I will be praying for you.

I realyl hope it's just implantation bleeding and nothing else - I have heard brown blood is ok.
When i m/c it was red blood right away, so try not to stress (yeah, easier said than done, I know).
You'll be in my thoughts!

Still spotting but nothing too heavy or steady. My boobs are back to their tender selves and I am feeling bloated. I called and left a message at the OB that I would like to come in this week just for some kind of check up. (mostly for my own mental reassurance) and am waiting for a callback.
