Personal question: DTD after a loss

So last night we finally DTD, I had my DNC on April 2nd so it has been 12 days and it was a little 'raw' feeling but not to bad but today I started bleeding again and cramping all day, and it's sore down there. I have no one to ask about this, is this normal? i can't remember last time how long we waited to DTD? Did this happen to anyone else?

Hugs Candy.

We had sex on day 5 after my D&C. The next day I bled CHUNKS of cottage cheese, it was horrible. No pain though and after speaking to my midwife she wasn't concerned as long as it didn't continue. It stopped by that night. Thank god.

I'd say you are okay (but I'm no doctor). Just keep an eye on how you feel and how the bleeding is.

I am sorry I can't help with this question.. I had my d/c on Feb 6th, 2009.. We were told no sex until I went for my follow up... which was in two weeks.. but the thing was.. My hubby had back surgery two weeks after my d/c... so it was a few more weeks after that before we dtd...

I know, it is an interesting choice of word

But seriously I literally had handfuls of the stuff pouring out of me. I was scared to death. I couldn't get up off the toilet because I was bleeding so badly. And I know it was handfuls because I was catching it in my hands as I needed to see what it was.

It was by far the scariest thing ever. I was home alone with the boys and just sat on the toilet with the phone in my hand ready to call 911 because I thought I was going to either faint or die from the blood loss. It was awful. Plus trying to remain calm for my children. I was terrified.

oh wow Joanne that sounds awful!!!!

I'm no help since I just had my D&C 12 days ago, but i'm dying to DTD...Seems like just when I think the bleeding is getting ready to stop, it gets heavy again....I'm getting frustrated.

I DTD 6 days after my m/c (the day after the bleeding stopped). I had a natural m/c, no DNC, and I was only 6 weeks along. Everything was fine after DTD for me though.

You are most likely OK but I'd call your doc to give you some reassurance.

I was told that I could have sex 2 wks after my d&c.. Like you, I just couldn't wait and dtd maybe around 12 days after the fact as well. I also felt a bit dry but no bleeding afterwards. The reason you should wait is to avoid infection (foul smelling discharge can be an indication). Good luck!
