Hi everyone,
I am very new to posting on JM but have been lurking for a while. I actually joined JM in January when I was pregnant. Unfortunately, we lost that baby at 14 weeks in late February and I never did start posting on the AUG DDC. This was our second loss, our first was in Oct/06 at 16w. We are blessed to have 4 wonderful children but were hoping to add one more to our hectic lives.

I have a large uterine fibroid (discovered in my first pregnancy in 2001). I developed hypothyroidism after my second pregnancy but it is pretty well managed with meds. Third pregnancy, I got GD. Lost my 4th pregnancy and got pregnant the first cycle after my loss and had GD with that pregnancy.

After my first loss, the IPS results came back showing an increased possibility of Trisomy 18. This loss, the IPS results (only had 1st part done) were positive for Down's. I am currently 38 and will be 39 in July.

I have alot of factors weighing against a successful pregnancy at this point so we aren't really sure.

Next Tuesday, I will be having a SIS (saline infusion sonography) done where they do a vaginal U/S after injecting saline into the uterus. The OB wants to see if the fibroid is protruding into my uterus and affecting the implantation of the placenta, thus leading to my losses. He wants to rule this out before we can TTC. Has anyone ever had this done? Just wondering what to expect....

I look forward to getting to know you ladies! BTW My name is Karen.
