conceive if you bd the night of your suspected O... I had my O pains in the early morning and late morning and after that nothing and then DH and I had some fun that evening.. Do you think I could've caught the egg?

It is possible. Sperm must go through a 12 hour "maturation" process once it's in you before it can fertilize an egg. The egg can live up to 24 hours I believe. So depending on what time you guys actually BD, you could catch the egg!

I am not sure about the 12 hour "maturation"... Sperm Capacitation is usually only a few hours.... varying on the species... (all that biology mumbo jumbo.. from school.. LOL)

And Sperm in "optimal" conditions can live up to 5 days. The Ovum (egg) lives on average for 12-24 hours... Depending on the quality of the ovum.

So time frame Lindsey it sounds like you have a very GOOD chance!! hope you caught that egg!
