I've just realised that I might have made a really foolish assumption in thinking that my cycles and O days would fall right back to 28 days with O at 14 days like it used to be.

Does anyone have an experience with whether a D&C might change cycles? I had AF just as my HCG result came back negative and I should be due on Sunday according to my old cycle length. Will the missed m/c and D&C have thrown that out? AF doesn't feel as though she's on her way though I've been feeling crampy for at least a week now.

Thanks!
Helen

Helen!! Ive finally seen a posting with your name! Nice to meet ya!
After the m/c it took 28 days until af arrived for the first time.
My cycle went right back to being 25 days the first month but I ovulated on cd4 when it is usually cd10. This month I didnt ovulate until cd 13 so I imagine that is the cause of my af delay which was due today. Ive read about a lot of the women here having cycles much different than before as well. I imagine it takes a while for things to regulate again for most of us.
Hope that helps.

Ah hah! Thanks Tobi. Guess I need to watch a little more closely for O! Do you temp, use OPKs or what? I feel like I need to be more in control for next time. I also can't believe it just occurred to me that things might be different. Not the sharpest tool right now!

And yes, I'm Helen! I forget people don't know. Aitch has always been my nickname. It's how you'd spell H, if you see what I mean?

I'm not sure about the D&C thing since this is my first time...The nurse did tell me today that my cycle might be different at first....I do know when I had Ella at 22 weeks my first cycle was much longer...I got it one month and 2 days after she was born and it was 36 days long and I usually have a 26 day cycle...So I do know that after you have a baby your cycle changes, so I assume it can after a D&C too.

Aitch, Makes sense!
Im thinking about temping but to tell you the truth, all that stuff is just so confusing to me. Im lucky enough to be one of the ones who has a very painful ovulation, so I always thought that was O day ... until recently when I discovered that the pains could actually be the folicle growing, or from the fluid that is released with the egg or a hundred and one other things! The more I learn the less I know! I totally understand the need to feel in control but it seems to me like we have absolutely none while ttc.

Ya know I'm just going to assume that your cycle isn't going to be the same in the first few months just as a lady who's had a natural loss, or an induced loss (chemo, induction, cytotec, etc) It takes a few months for things to get back to normal because of the lining needing to heal n sloff off

I'm still waiting for my post D&C Af. Last year after my D&C the cycle was 30 days then I got AF and the month after that I had a 28 day cycle. I don't know what my cycles were before that, I'm going to assume any where from 26 - 30 days.
