Well i'm still having bleeding problems...I've been bleeding every afternoon for a few hours then it's gone by bedtime, it's been a pattern since wed...Well this morning I was having no bleeding and just now I felt something and went to the bathroom and sat down and so much blood and clots came gushing out...The toilet was so full of blood, more blood than i've ever seen (even after giving birth)...I couldn't tell how big the clots were, but I felt them come out and i'm pretty sure they were big...My doctor's office isn't open today and I hate to go to the ER and pay that much money (thanks to having crappy insurance)...They also told me that if I fill a bad front to back in an hour, well I haven't, it always just happens when I sit on the toilet, so i'm not sure what to do...The bleeding also doesn't last...I bleed heavy for a little bit and then it stops...Could this really be my first cycle post D&C, are they really this weird? or is this something I should be worried about?

*update*

Well i'm pretty sure this is my first AF post m/c/D&C...The bleeding was really bad yesterday (saturday), but it hasn't stopped like it was...I still think it's so early for a 2nd trimester miscarriage to get an AF, from what I Read online most people get it 6 weeks or so...I also can't believe that it's so heavy, i've never had a period like this and it's so weird considering that I never stopped spotting after my D&C....It seems to be slowing down and hopefully it will start easing up and go away just like a normal AF...What I was wondering, if anyone can help me, is what day should I consider CD 1? It started on Wed, but stopped every day...The consistant bleeding started saturday, so do I cound Wed as CD 1 or Saturday? It's hard to start charting when I don't know what's going on.

Megan, I don't know what to tell you - I haven't had a D&C and I'm just waiting on my first AF after m/c, but I wanted to say I hope it eases up so you don't have to worry anymore. I don't know what advice to give you but I'm sure there are others who will be able to help you..

Thanks! I'm sick of complaing about it, but it's been such a weird week...I'm thinking it is just a super heavy AF...I can't figure out why it stops after awhile, but it's been happening all day and hasn't stopped yet and this is the first day it's done this..I'm used to having heavy cycles, but nothing like this, but from what I looked up online that's pretty normal.

I didn't have a D&C either, so I don't know if that's normal. But my first AF after my mc was just like that, and it lasted for about 5 days, it was horrible. I hope it will lighten up and go away for you soon.

I also didn't have a D&C, but my first af after my mc was not nice and I also had clots. My doctor told me to expect clots and heavy bleeding, but if they were too big or if it was abnormally heavy to call. Yeah, that wasn't too helpful to me because I felt it was already abnormally heavy. I hope everything gets better soon.

My first loss was at 15 weeks and I had a D&C. I had spotting/bleeding the whole first month, then all of a sudden started a really heavy normal period at about 30 days post D&C. I was surprised too. Then my body stopped bleeding and things went back to normal. It sounds like you are doing what I did. I would go with the first day of flow for your CD1. I even gave it another cycle just to track everything and see if I had really had my first period. I hope that the bleeding stops for you soon and you are able to move forward.

Hugs Megan. What a horrid roller coaster ride. Ugh. I would count CD1 as the first day you started bleeding.

I had a D&C and my first period was pretty much normal and the same prior to my D&C. I hope things start to get back on track for you soon.

I was read online and was told by my dr. that you have to stop bleeding/spotting for about 2-3 weeks before you get AF. I bled and spotted after I was induced and then 2 months later a D&C for 10weeks 3 days! Then I got AF about 3 weeks later. Did you ask your dr. about it yet or are you calling them tomorrow?

Yes I talked to a nurse who also talked to my doctor...He told me on my appointment 2 weeks after my D&C that he thought I should get my period soon, even after I told him that I was still spotting....Any way, the nurse and doctor both said it was probably my period, and I asked about it being so early on and the fact that I had still been spotting and she still said it was probably my period...I wasn't convinced, but now I am...My Post D&C blood was much different, really dark...I think I had red blood for a couple days in the first week, but not since, and this is bright red blood and heavy and looks like period blood..Sorry to be so graphic, i'm sure you all understand...This is the only place i'd ever post about what my blood looks like lol

It is probably AF. I would count Saturday as CD1. I *think* CD1 is considered on the first day of an average flow, not spotting.

I just played with FF and spotting isn't considered as CD1, when I put in "light" FF marked it as CD1. Hope this helps!

well the bleeding I had wasn't spotting, it was bright red flow, but it only lasted a few hours, then stop and start again the next day (if that makes sense)....It's just frustrating, and i probably won't even chart anything this month...I just wanted to put something down so I can count my cycle days and try to figure out when my next cycle will start....It's actually slowed down for now *knock on wood* so depending on when it stops I might choose when I Start my CD 1...If it stops in the next couple days i'll count Wed or thursday as CD 1 and if it goes past that then I know that CD 1 is saturday...I usually have 5-7 day AF.
