Hi everyone...my name is Amie and I just had my first miscarriage (it was our first pregnancy). It took us 7 months to conceive; I have endometriosis and PCOS, so I have no idea what comes next. I am totally devastated. I was 8 weeks, and we went in last week for the first ultrasound, and they couldn't find a heartbeat. So they thought maybe it was just too early. We went back again this Monday, and they saw the fetal pole, but still no heartbeat. So I had a beta done, and my hcg levels are dropping significantly...so I have the D&C tomorrow. The hardest thing for me right now is knowing I have this little baby inside of me that isn't going to develop, and never really lived. It just breaks my heart.

I don't really know what to expect from here - this is all totally new to me. What should I expect from the D&C? Is it going to be painful afterward? How long before DH and I can start trying again?

I'm sad to be over on this board, but I've heard really good things about it, so I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

So sorry for your loss hun. I just had a D&C a couple weeks ago for a 9wk pregnancy. They knocked me out, and the pain was rough for a few days, and I bled some. It was not too bad as long as I took the pain medicine on time. You will be fine. We were told by one doc to try again when we were ready, and told my another doctor to wait (we have a young child though). Big hugs!!!

So sorry for your loss hun. I was in the December DDC with you. I got to the doc on Monday to more than likely set up a D & C as well. I had an u/s and it showed nothing. My levels were not dropping yet, but they were WAY too low. This is my sixth loss. I have only had one other D&C and it was pretty painless, just wiped me out.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have no experience with a D/C as I had a natural miscarrige. The ladies here are wonderful and I hope your stay is short!

So sorry for your loss. I've had 2 D&C's and they were very painless. I had minor cramping afterwards and the bleeding was heavier during the first one because I was further along then.

On the TTC part, it is best to do what is right for you. Some Dr.'s say to wait 2 -3 cycles before trying again, but I find it to be a personal decision.

I am so sorry for your loss... I chose my D&C without pain meds and it was uncomfortable but not unbearable. If I had to do it again I would suggest pain meds. I cooked a big dinner the next day but had to take it a little easy.

As for TTC again, my doctor said wait until AF started and we could try again. Every doctor will say different things. It is up to you and your DH. We are here for you, again I am so sorry.

I'm sorry for your loss

I just had a D&C 4 weeks ago...They put me to sleep and I didn't actually feel anything during the procedure...It actually wasn't painful after, maybe just some cramping...I'd say that the days following the crampings was worse than the first day, same with the bleeding, it got worse after a couple of days...I was given Ibprofen and vicodin and the Ibprofen seemed to help better...I was also very tired for the first week and my body was really sore...As for TTC my doctor told me that it was fine after 6 weeks (when I told him that we won't wait) and that it doesn't increase my risk of another miscarriage trying so soon...He also said that he doesn't think you'll get pregnant if your body isn't ready...Good luck to you!

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my peanut 4 weeks ago too. I had a D and C, but I was but to sleep. What I found to give me closure was I asked my DR to take a picture of Peanut for me. I also wrote him a letter and that really helped. Now I have started my first cycle since and we are ready to try again. The girls on this board are awesome. They all know what your going threw. Just know the time will heal. We will be here to support you .
You will be in my pray tomorrow. May God bless you!!!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I don't have any experience with d&c's but I lost my little one when I was around 6 or 7 weeks and I know what you are going through right now. My Dr told me to wait 2 months before trying again but we only waited one month. I will keep you in my prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss . {HUGS} It's such a horrible thing! I wish none of them had to go through it

I have no experience with D&C as I had two natural m/c 9though doctor wanted to perform D&C with my first m/c but I refused) I lost my first one at 7w3d and doctor said to wait until after one normal period before trying again.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Hugs! I had a D&C with my son. You are put to sleep for the procedure and afterward I had some cramping and spotting but that was it. My doctor told me to wait 1 cycle so we could date the next pregnancy but she told me there is no medical reason as to why you have to wait. If your body is not ready it won't get pregnant. I also have PCOS and Endo! I am having a laproscopy done July 2. If you have any questions please feel to PM me.
