Tomorrow I go to the doctor FINALLY. To determine when and how this pregnancy will end (blighted ovum). I am going to ask this new doctor for a clotting panel, my old doctor refused. A quick summary of my last three years: a loss at almost 5 months along to a neural tube defect, followed by 3 chemical and 2 blighted ovums. From all the research I have done, there is a good chance that I have at least one clotting issue.

So to my questions, did your ob's, perinatal, or gp order the tests? Did they refer you to a hematologist?

Yes, I've had the tests run. I haven't spoken to the Dr. yet so I don't know what's next on the list. I hope you get some answers so you can get your BFP soon!!

I am far from a BFP since I am still technically pregnant now, but thanks for the thought!

My OB ordered most of the tests. He left out 3 clotting disorders and my RE did those. I do have MTHFR, but was not referred to a hematologist. However, my RE did do follow-up testing for that.

Oddly, my Endocrinolgist ordered the tests looking for Lupus antibodies. My regular OB/Gyn did the blood draw/labs and went over the initial results with me. Since I had the MTHfR mutation, she referred me to a hematologist, who then discovered the Protien C defciency. I am now under the care of all 3!

I am floored that your previous doctor refused to run the tests! I just don't get some doctor's thinking!

I wish you luck on finding answers. It is more heartache than any one women should ever have to deal with.

Kat.

I lost Clark at 5 months due to a SCH, then I had 3 chemical pregnancies.

My OB agreed to run the panel and told me he fully didn't expect to find anything. Lo and behold I tested positive for both MTHFR and lupus anticoagulants.

The very first cycle I used Lovenox resulted in Cameron

Oh, I wanted to add that I was not referred to a hematologist until I was near the end of my pregnancy with Cammie. I saw him once before my induction and was just told that I didn't need anti-coagulation after the pregnancy.
