So since I got out of the hospital I've been pretty swelled up, hands, feet and legs...My hands have gone back to normal, but my feet and legs are getting worse and they hurt really bad...So I called my lovely doctors office today...The nurse got on the phone, the same nurse who told me gushing bright red blood 3 weeks after a D&C was normal *eyeroll*...So anyway, I told her about the swelling, and of course her famous words "that's normal" then I said that I'm still bleeding, more bleeding than I had in the first week after my last D&C, with pretty big clots...Of course "that's normal" again *eyeroll*...So I told her that she told me it was normal before and it wasn't and I was bleeding to death and ended up in the hospital with 2 blood transfusions and another D&C, so I didn't trust what she had to say...She then told me that if I keep bleeding I need to go back to the hospital...I told her that I couldn't afford to keep going to the hospital for this and that I wanted to be seen..and why should I keep having to go to the hospital any way? UGH I'm just so annoyed....I'm going in tomorrow to see the doctor that did my 2nd D&C and even if nothing is wrong, I'd rather know that than have what happened last time happen again...I also didn't post here, but I sent in a request for all my medical records and after my last visit with my doctor on the 21st I'm leaving his practice and finding a new doctor...We might also consult a lawyer just to cover the hospital visit and 2nd D&C...I'm not sure if we have a case, but I'm at least going to talk to someone...I feel like they were negligent with no exams after my D&C (he didn't even touch me when I had my follow up), then when I called and was told a period, I trusted my doctor and he was wrong...They should of had me come in...Then I called his office 3 times trying to get ahold of a doctor but they were closed and every time I asked the answering service to have the doctor on call call me and they never did...I can't wait to see what all my records show.

I'm sure you know this, but what ever you do, DO NOT tell them you may be seeking legal council. Your records will be "doctored" if you catch my drift.
I've seen it first hand. I have a legal case against my former employer for firing me just 2 days after my son passed away. I requested medical records from my psychiatrist (different than an OB, but he was the one keeping me off work) and since the lawyer requested the documents, things got changed.
I know this because I had asked for my records for myself. When compared to the ones the lawyer got....totally different.
Just be careful sweetie, thinking of you!

Yes i'm not going to say anything...I won't even tell my doctor i'm leaving his practice till after I get my records...They just moved into a new building and they are owned by the hospital...I didn't even have to go to his office to request my medical records, so i'm not even sure they know...I also know someone who can access all my records and already gave me copies of all my ultrasound records, so if I think anything is changed i'll have that person look into it for me...I won't even persue anything unless I know we have a case...I'm not looking for money, I just don't think it's fair that I now have to pay for a hospital and repeat surgery when it wasn't done right and when I called them and they still wouldn't do anything about it, so i'll just have to wait and see....I won't do anything till I start getting bills in the mail.

Wow there is no way I would stick around with that doctor. Sorry you have to go through all of this. One time my dh called our son's doctor to get some advice on a situation and the office staff tried giving him her opinion. My dh wasn't too happy an said she didn't have the right to give him medical advice and that he wanted to speak with the doctor. That's the only time we've had trouble with someone at the dr.'s office. I hope you feel better soon and get this all straightened out.

Megan I am so so sorry you are going through this... Your Dr's office sounds like a bunch of un professional Dr's and nurses.. I would definitely find a new office and I hope you get way better treatment.. You deserve it.. I really hope that you can get money back from them for their mess up.. HUGS,, Hang in there.

How horrible! I'm EXTREMELY sorry!!! This is partly why I get so pissed sometimes with these half-*** doctors that treat 'em n street 'em sort of mentality... that's what has driven the medical malpractice ins up sky high!!! Not enough one on one attention, over or double booking, over worked, and the list goes on.

I agree, DO NOT tell them you're going to a lawyer at all... never ever! You very well may have a case, it may take a while to get it all settled but stick to your guns.

OMGOSH, that is awful. I'm livid for you Megan. Livid.

Massive hugs. So glad you are finding a new doctor and talking to someone in the 'legal' department. Best of luck.

You should have asked to speak with someone else, like a Dr. I wouldn't trust that nurse as far as I could throw her. It's unspeakable the way they are treating you. I hope your new Dr. is much more understanding. I would just get your medical records, don't say a word about anything and get away from them.
