Has anyone tried the clearblue fertility monitor? S/O and I picked one up today. Im only on cd3, and it doesnt let you test til day 6, and since I think I O pretty early that doesn't really work for me. (Obviously Im not really sure when Im actually O'ing, cause I bought the monitor!) The monitor will allow you to enter the cycle day 1 through 5 so instead of putting in cd3 I put in cd5 so I can test tomorrow lol.

Anyway, my question is, if you have tried it, do you like it?
It cost plenty. After the monitor, plus the box of test sticks we spent $350!! It better be good! I know its not a lot when compared with what fertility expenses are, but ... well, I guess I shouldn't be complaining just yet should I?

Also what actually happens with the LH surge? Im asking cause Ive read that although all symptoms may lead us to believe that ovulation is occuring, sometimes it doesnt actually happen. Can it happen that you can have a surge of LH and not actually O?

I had one 9 years ago while TTC my daughter. All I know is you don't have to do a thing but pee on a stick and it tells you the rest! Took me 5 months to get pregnant with her...but I knew every time when I was ovulating!!! No guesswork whatsoever! I sold it on ebay for 60 bucks.

I have one!!! But I haven't gotten the chance to use it yet...I've done a lot of reading online and so many people say it's great...Some on here have told me it's great too...I hope it helps you get your BFP fast!!!...Also when reading reviews people talked about how they tried to get pregnant for months even a year and once they started using the monitor they realised that they didn't O when they thought they did and then got pregnant right away.

Tobi, I use the CBEFM and I LOVE IT!! Not that we are really trying right now, but I need to know when to really avoid now. I used it in February, DTD on the 2nd night of my "peak time" and got pregnant. I did m/c but that wasn't the monitors fault. It will take at least one cycle for the monitor to get to know you so it might not work great this first time around, but next month it should right on track!

Also, you can buy test sticks on Ebay for a lot cheaper than in the stores. Also try Amazon, but just make sure the test sticks aren't expired from either site. Best of luck with it!!

Yes, I believe you can have a LH surge and not O. It might be called an "anovulatory cycle" but I've heard of women gearing up to O, and then nothing.

My cousin has one and LOVES it - she used it to conceive her daughter. They had trouble ttc, so she said it was worth all the cash - you end up getting your payback in about 3 cycles given the other costs you'd normally have.

With respect to having an LH surge and not ovulating, it can happen...but typically it will happen in someone who already has an issue (i.e. PCOS). I think it's very rare in women who have normal cycles/hormone levels.

If I were you I'd stick to the true CD that you are on. The monitor will work just fine for you and by next month will definitely *know* you.

Oh and I told my OB I got one and he also said they are great but he didn't think I needed one since I didn't had trouble getting pregnant before...I didn't want to tell him that I just want to get pregnant ASAP lol...I can't wait to use mine!!!
