I just miscarried this weekend at 5w2d. I didn't have to have a d&c, seems like everything is miscarrying naturally. The spotting started on Wednesday [5/26] and the actual bleeding started Saturday [5/29] they did blood work today to check my HCG again. The bleeding has pretty much stopped now [6/1] I feel fine. I guess because it's so early, Saturday & Sunday was hell but I'm feeling pretty normal now. ANYWAYS! My question is...did any of you have sex before your first "normal" AF? Did any of you start TTC before AF? DH & I haven't had sex in seriously about 3 weeks & we both really want to. HELP PLEASE!

I don't know about natural m/c, but I know with a D&C you are advised to wait 2 weeks. I don't see any reason why you can't DTD just be careful. If it's painful then you obviously need to stop. I've heard of women getting pregnant before their first cycle after a m/c and have gone on to have healthy pregnancies.

Hi Samantha, Im so sorry for your loss. ~hugs~ I know that quite a few ladies here have started ttc before their first af. For me I waited to ttc until after my first af. I was concerned about infection for the first month after m/c so we used condoms to prevent. I also wanted to make sure that the lining of my uterus had built up enough to sustain a pregnancy. But everyone is so different and many have gone on to have successful pregnancies without waiting. I think that whatever you are comfortable with is whats right for you! Good luck on your ttc journey!

We were told to wait 2 weeks after my d&c to dtd again, and 3 months to ttc. We're ntnp right now, but we've definitely dtd before af showed (she hasn't yet). I think it's just a personal choice, but I've read that there really is no medical reason to wait - that if your body is ready, it is ready...and if not, you won't get preggers.

I'm so sorry for your loss I just had a m/c a few weeks ago and DH and I have decided to go ahead and continue trying to get pg. Well....I guess technically we're ntnp...I'm not really focusing on it but I'm def. not trying to prevent either. I m/c early - about 5 weeks like you and I really had no cramps or discomfort so I figure if my body is not ready to get pg - I wont. Everyone's different though - good luck to you!

First, I'm really sorry about your loss. I think a loss is difficult regardless of how far along you were so I'm really sorry that you had to experience this pain. I didn't have a D&C with my loss at 6 weeks in February.
We DTD a couple weeks after the bleeding stopped but not really in a TTC sense of DTD if that makes sense. My doctor said to wait one cycle to allow the lining of my uterus to recover. My first AF after my loss came 5 weeks after I started bleeding and it was really heavy and crampy. The second AF was much more normal and came two days early.
I hope you get your sticky BFP soon.

I'm sorry for you loss Hang in there, I know it's hard. I was told with my first to wait until the bleeding stops, but they didn't say when it was ok start TTC again. I think just whatever you are comfortable with as far as TTC.

I was told to put nothing in my vag for 2 weeks when I had my d&c since the risk of infection is high. I'm not sure how different it would be for a natural m/c, but I'd call your doctor to be safe.

I was told not to have sex, take baths, put anything in there until I stopped bleeding. I had a natural m/c at 6 weeks by the way. We had sex 2 days after I stopped bleeding and I was fine. I'm sorry for your loss!!
