I don't think so, your within the normal range. If you need a piece of mind ask if they will do one more just to make sure they are doubling.

I agree, the number is in the normal range. But the key is doubling. I would ask for a second if you are worried.

It is a good number for an initial draw.. the only way to make sure is to make sure it is doubling. If your Dr said you didn't have to come back.. and you want that second draw to make sure you are doubling, call and let him know that you are feeling a little uneasy do to your past.. can you have one more draw...
You can look at my siggy to see what my HCG's were with this pregnancy.. At about 4 weeks... 5 days.. My HCG was over 10,000 with twins..

Yes the important thing to know is that they are doubling.
My HCG at 4 weeks 4 days was 288.. and the doc said it was "not low but not high" and asked me to come back for a second draw.
I would ask for a second draw! If you go for it I hope they skyrocket!!

I called the dr back and he said that those number where good. That I didn't need to go back. That he would see me on June 18. To call if I had any bleeding .

Ya like the other ladies have said, it's the doubling time... not particularly the one draw's numbers in and of themselves.

I would go to the hospital if you want yours drawled again. Just go in and say your having some pains and they will do them Sneaky but hey if thats what you need to give you peace of mind I say go for it.

Amignano, I would say that if your doctor sees no reason to draw them again, trust him. I didn't have betas done with any pregnancy until this most recent one and I can tell you that the worry and stress was actually higher this time around. I was waiting on pins and needles to find out the next number... and then when i did I wondered if it was a good number or not. Then I wanted a third one one "just in case". Even if they are doubling properly early on there is nothing that makes you feel "safe" about the pregnancy (after you have had a loss) until you hear a heartbeat and get past the first trimester.
I should also mention that here in Canada they almost never do betas. I had them done because I was at a "specialist" but most OBs and GPs don't do them.
My advice is to not worry about the numbers and trust that this will continue succesfully.

Thank you guys so much. I will trust my Dr. and see him on the 18 of June. This pregnancy is so different then with Peanut. I am getting sick at night and just don't feel like I did with Peanut. With Peanut Iknew something was wrong. I can't wait to the 1 trimester is over.

Amignano - it is great that this pregnancy feels different. That is the first question my doctor asked about my current pregnancy (in fact my acupuncturist did too). isn't maternal instinct a crazy thing!

Even if you did find out the numbers, there is nothing you can do. So I would try not to worry about the numbers. As hard as it is, I would say if your doctor isn't concerned then you should trust him and just pray that everything will be okay. Good luck with your pregnancy!

I agree with Michelle on not stressing out and maybe it's better not to have it done because of the stress factor. But I would add that I live in Canada too and my GP ordered betas right away without me asking for it - maybe it's different in Toronto or something? Or maybe I was lucky.. who knows.
