This is only my second time using opk's and I'm currently on vacation so I haven't been good about using them the same time everyday. But is it possible to miss seeing your o day? I had one that seemed positive at about cd 8, but I thought it was too early. Now I thought I should have o the last couple days and it isn't showing up on my opk's. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure...I think if you do them daily, even if they aren't at the exact same time you'd probably still see a positive, as long as your still doing them daily....I don't always do them at the exact same time, but I try to do them kind of at the same time...Sorry i'm not very much help...Oh i've also had them get dark like it was going to be positive and then the next one was light....I'd just keep testing if that's what happend...GL!!!

Hi, Im brand new at using opk's. Im using the clearblue fertility monitor, but you can visually read the test sticks as well. Im dont know anything about your cycle lengths at all, but I can tell you I ovulate on cd10. Also my monitor gives me a 3 hour window on either side of the time I set it for. For example if I set it for 8am, it will accept a test anywhere between 5am and 11 am. Thats a pretty big window so I imagine it doesnt really have to be the same time each day as long as its within a few hours. Good luck!

I used opk's when we were ttc (we're ntnp right now b/c of our loss).

You can definitely miss your o...the LH surge lasts from 12-36 hours, so if you are on the low end, you can miss it. What I do is use IC opk's up to when I think it's getting + and then start doing them at night and the morning. When I think I have a + I use the digital clearblue easy ones that have the smiley face to confirm it. That method works for me!

Thanks ladies! I still haven't got a positive other than that possible early on, but I guess it is still possible if I'm just later than usual this month. Sometimes I don't know why I bother doing this . . . it just makes me wonder/worry more! Hopefully I will learn a little more about my body though.

I would just bd every other day just to be sure you catch it. Cover all of your bases.

From what I understand you O anywhere from 24 - 36 hours AFTER your surge. So if you get a +opk today, it's possible you won't O until the next day. Just keep BD'ing and hopefully you'll catch that egg!!
