So this is my first cycle using Clomid. My OB had me to take it from CD 2-6. Im now on CD 14 and still no positive OPK. I would think by now I would have had a + since it suggests I would O 5-10 days after the last pill which 10 days would put me at this coming Tuesday.

Is is possible to O later than the 10 days after the pill? Im worried if I O later and I took the pill CD 2-6 wouldnt that mean my egg is too ripe or something like that? I thought I read that somewhere but maybe Im wrong.

My OB is also not doing any testing or follow up. I have a yearly checkup on July 12th and she gave me enough for 2 cycles til then and said we would followup then.

*Most* women O 5-10 days after the last pill but for some it takes a little longer like 14-15 days. I've seen some of the ladies on the other boards not O until CD 21 or so. Did your doctor not say anything about a progesterone check on CD21 or 23? I would call and ask for one that way you could be sure you ovulated. I've only taken it once CD5-9 and O'd on CD 17.

Sometimes they will need to put you on a higher dosage if it does not make you Ovulate. My doctor never checked me either just had me do OPK's and if I never got a positive she upped my dosage. Hugs! Praying your O soon.

Well I took it for 2 months before my bfp and I o'd on CD22 and then CD17 - I got the bfp on that last cycle. Don't worry - on some women they o early but I've seen lots of others who o late on clomid...keep using the opk's! But, Shortcake is right - if you don't o this cycle you should call and get a higher dosage to make you o. Some women never o on it, but most will somewhere up to 150mg.

This is one thing that Pee's me off!! I think Drs who give Clomid should follow thier pts closely!!! First off they should do a pre u/s. just to check your linning and ovaries.. If your linning is to thin You should not go on clomid, 2nd if you have cycsts.. you should not be on clomid. Second you should be started on 50, the lowest.. and they should bring you in for that u/s on CD12-13. To make sure the clomid is producing follicles.. and if you are not it needs to be upped. If you are producing too many you could be at risk for OHSS.... Than you should be monitored for you linning once on clomid.. or put on progesterone.. to help with the linning break down that can happen on Clomid. While the Blood work is great to say IF you ovulated.. it can not tell you 1) how your linning is, 2) how many follicles your are producing.

Ok now let me get down off my soap box.. This is just one drug that needs to be montiored.. For ladies who have been down such a horriable road already!!!

I would call you Dr.. and just see if he can bring you in for an U/S just to see how your body is working on the Clomid...

HUGS!

Oh my! I really did not know how much should be monitored while on Clomid. She started me out on 100mg. Im guess she is not following me since she knows my insurance does not cover anything ferility related but on the other than if she cannot monitor me maybe I should not be on it.

Thanks ladies!

I could not have said it better.... Girls, you should really be monitored while taking Clomid.

At one point I was going to order Clomid from an online pharmacy and just take it and see what happened. I am so glad I did not do that. Clomid can cause your ovaries to hyper stimulate and get really swollen and then you have bigger issues.

Thanks ladies!

My insurance doesn't cover infertility.. But the way my Dr billed I believe was cycle monitoring. Never used "infertility" or "fertility"....
