My brand new fertility monitor is broken, Ive only had it for for 15 days. I bought it the day Af arrived this cycle and right after it gave me my high and peak readings it crapped out. So now Im so concerned that the readings werent actually right and I didnt O when it says I did. And to top it off normally I get O pains and I havent had them this month.I bought the monitor to confirm that the pains I was having were actually O pains, cause really, who knows? Not me, thats for sure. Normally, right along with the O pain, my BBs start hurting and dont stop til AF shows. This month, nothing. The girl at Customer service for the clearblue monitor said that I may not have ovulated at all, the machine only picks up the surge but that doesnt mean I ovulated. Im so very sad. I mean, Im 40, I dont have lots of time, and I told s/o that "maybe we should just give up". He says "Maybe not". Sweet, but Im tired of it, the roller coaster, Im just so tired!

***Update..
We went and exchanged the monitor last night, they were good about it, no questions asked. I don't really have much confidence in it anymore ..
Question #1..
So, last month and now this month between O and AF I have this weird feeling in my cervix like Im trying to hold it up, kind of heavy ... does anyone know anything about this? I know its my cervix because a few years ago I had the LEEP procedure and afterwards my cervix was aching so I def know thats where its feeling odd.
Any ideas what it could be? I had a pap last Jan, when I was pregnant and it was clear, so my Doctor isn't concerned. But I am.
Question #2 ..
Did I actually ovulate, do you think? My piece of poop monitor says I peaked cd 11 and 12. Im cd 17 now. Normally after O I have seriously sore bb's, this month just minor tingling sensation. I want to say maybe the absence of sore bbs is a good pg sign but in all honestly, thats the opposite of what should happen. Other eps .. lots of cm, tired, lower backache. But Ive been up late and maybe Ive slept weird, Im afraid to hope.
Anyways, opinions please ladies? Dont be shy! lol Im ok with you saying that maybe I didnt O. Ive resigned myself to believing that could be.

I am so mad for you Tobi! That stupid witch at costumer service shouldn't have said that. I hope that they get you a replacement monitor. Your s/o is so sweet don't give up, you will get pregnant. I hope that you did O and catch the egg so you don't need that stupid monitor.

That totally stinks!! I would be so upset. Don't let it get you down though...it's just a little hiccup along your ttc journey that will be successful!

Tobi I'm so sorry honey!

I would demand a replacement ASAP, there's no reason it should be stuck on CD16 and not moving forward with or without ovulation. So they really do need to replace it and at THEIR cost not yours.

You know about the whole not having O pains, it's possible to ovulate and not have O pains every time according to my RE.

Oh my... aren't those pretty expensive? You should demand a replacement, that's a ridiculous! I bet you o'd anyway... Have you ever charted? you could take your temp and see if it's higher than your average coverline just to give you an idea of what's going on...

I'm sorry! Did they say they would replace it for you? There's no reason for that after just two weeks!

Thanks for all your support ladies, you really do mean the world to me ...
The witch at customer service said I can take it back to the drug store and get a new one, which is fine, no problem. My biggest concern is that obviously the thing is broken, and the readings it gave me fit perfectly for the 'average' 28 day cycle girl, but Im not, Im 25. Im wondering if its like a default setting or something? So all the effort we put into ttc, maybe at the wrong time? I mean its not a hardship or anything, all the baby dancing but really, it gets pretty straining, right?
Rachel, I havent temped at all, I was thinking of starting though, and with all these sc-rew ups, it looks as though Im going to have to.
Celena, I respect your opinion so Im going to take your word for it, its just very difficult to make sense of it all.

Hi Tobi. I understand how you feel being older and that time is running out. I am sorry you are going through this.

I don't know about the healthcare system in Canada but do you have an OBGYN? Is there a way they can draw your blood at cd3 just for your FSH levels and/or draw blood at cd21 and test your progesterone? Your cd21 bloodwork will definitely be able to tell if you are ovulating or not.

Have you thought about going to an RE at all?

I've used one of these...and the first month is used to establish "your" cycle.
You don't have any other data to compare it to, so it's not really useful yet.

I would chalk this month up to practice, get the new one and have faith.
I always loved seeing my peak days and I know you will too!!!!

Hugs from Houston!
Dawna

Tobi,

I just wanted to pop and tell you what happened the month I got my BFP. No O pains at all, I actually thought I had all ready O on Friday. DH asked on Sat. if we needed to DTD - I said No, think I all ready did. Turns out I O'd on Sunday. That whole two week wait, NOTHING. Not even my normal PMS (No sore boobs, no tiredness, NADA) I even waited an extra 5 days after AF was due to test b/c I was so sure I was not pregnant. Here I am now at almost 13 weeks

Also wanted to mention that I had 24-26 day cycles and always assumed I o'd on CD 10-12. After I started charting, I realized I usually O on CD 13-14 and had a 12 day luteal phase.

Good luck! I am hoping for you BFP soon!

Kat.
