Well gals, met with the RE today and we have decided to go the IVF route. My DH has great sperm counts but the motility I guess isn't good. So he thought that helping the sperm by injecting it into the egg would be our best source of having a sticky bean. They simply can't tell me why we keep miscarrying. There is not a medical reason at this point. DH and I decided we just want to be aggressive and get this TTC part over. We want one more baby and then we are done. So hopefully it will be money well spent. I'm feeling very very nervous about the whole thing. we have to decide if we want to do this with my next cycle or the following one. I just feel so mentally beaten down right now!! but glad we have made a decision and are moving forward. I have to have an u/s on CD2 or CD3 next cycle to futher look at my uterus. That is all for now. I will keep you posted with what we decide. Thanks for all the support gals!

That is great. So did you Dr seem to think that doing IVF would prevent miscarring since you are able to get pg on your own? Just curious.
I have often wondered if the sperm would have anything to do with a miscarriage. My DH has a great sperm count as well but some of them have a head deformity. So I have wondered if the problem would lie with unhealthy sperm or if its just a womens issue. Not sure.

I am so glad that you are moving forward. So excited for you. We so can not afford the IVF route but are considering doing IUI. I hope we dont have to though.

Anyhow so happy for you girl.

thanks brandi!!! they simply can't tell me why i'm miscarrying. they think the sperm could have something to do with it, but they are not sure. every test has come back normal except DH's motality. But his count is really really high, so that's good. thanks for the encouragement hun!!!

Lynda, wishing you all the very best on your IVF journey. DH & I are off the the FS in July to discuss the IVF option since my lap was clear and all ok with DH sperm, I just don't O regularly but Clomid was a bust. Anyway, wil be 'stalking' you a little to see what happens & when. Again, best of luck for a sticky bean x

That is good news.. I am wishing you luck and hopefully you will get your baby.. I did read somewhere not sure where that sperm defects can cause a miscarriage.. I don't understand how a retarded sperm can fertilize an egg but I guess where there is a way it can happen.. I hope that is not my problem cause my DH says his sperm are great since I have gotten pregnant 3 times.. Best of luck to you though.

Since half the genetic material comes from the sperm, yes definitely the sperm can have something to do with it. Even if the sperm formed correctly and can move well, that doesn't mean that all the dna is perfect.

Anyway, I just want to wish you good luck!!

Lynda,

I have been stalking you for updates! I am so excited for you and I just know that it's your turn! I understand the beat down - I watched my sister with it for 6 years. It will all be worth it, I promise.

Lynda, that is great news. Dh and I are starting IVF next month and I know how you feel. We are doing it because my 2 m/c's were due to Trisomy. So we are doing IVF w/ PGS (preimplantation genetic screening). After the egg is implanted with the sperm they wait till the embryo has 5 or 6 cells then they extract a cell and do testing on the cell to see if it has any abnormalities. If the embryo is healthy they implant it. We have a choice on how many to implant and we're considering doing three. We're starting with my next cycle which should start around July 9th. I'm mostly nervous about giving myself shots every day, but I should ok once I get used to it. I have no choice.

Good luck and keep us posted!
