Sorry for all my stupid questions, I promise that i'll stop as soon as i'm normal again

Is it normal for a first period after miscarriage to be longer than usual? I can't help but worry something is wrong, and i've looked things up online and can't find much info....This spotting i'm having just won't stop....It stops and than it seems like an hour later it starts again...It's not heavy or red, which is good.

It can take a few cycles before you return to normal because your lining is trying to shed and build back up. So it's not uncommon for AF to be later and longer or shorter than usual, expect the unexpected! However you should be careful and watch for signs of infection like fever, pain, excessive bleeding and it never hurts to call your doctor's office anyways to speak to a nurse triage about it. They can document what's going on with your post-loss cycles as well. If they think there is a problem or you're very concerned book an appointment. It never hurts to get checked out.

Have they monitored your hcg levels to zero?

I think it's different for every woman. I agree with Celena, you should expect the unexpected.

Oh I haven't been positive for pregnancy in a long time...Even before I had the 2nd D&C my pregnancy tests were negative....I also tested almost every day till I got a period...I'm not worried about infection or anything...The bleeding wasn't unusual since i Have a heavy period anyway, and it was only heavy for like 2 days like usual...Today i'm having a lot of twinges though, it almost feels like a baby moving around, it's freaking me out!!!!!

I had some strange cycles after my second loss.. They would be a longer cycle and then a short cycle and then a normal length cycle, and I had a few months in there where I thought I was spotting for like ages.. Hang in there hun..

My cycles have been consistently 5 weeks long since the D&C. Exactly five weeks, which is totally abnormal for me. I have 4-week cycles. So I'm kinda p'd about that. I HOPE this one goes back to 28 days. It's been four months. Enough already.

The first post-op period was pretty normal (blood loss wise) and lasted for about five days and tapered off normally with no cramping; the second was normal (blood loss wise) but I had more days of brown spotting (like three days of period and five days of brown spotting) and no cramping; but this third period was a NIGHTMARE. I had to go buy those gigantic Always Extra Protection pads (the purple ones that are like 24" long and go all the way up your butt) because my bleeding was so heavy the first two days and I passed two rather large clots. The cramping was also insane. But then it stopped being heavy after just two days and just stayed VERY light. There was no "moderate blood loss." It was Heavy-Heavy-Light-Light-Spotting.

So I have no idea when things are supposed to get back to normal. I just keep waiting. I have an appointment with my OB/GYN tomorrow. Maybe he'll have some answers.

But like others have said, it can take only one month, or it can take several, for your periods to return to normal again. It really varies for each woman. I really want mine to get back to normal this cycle. It sucks having 5-week cycles. Ugh.

I have not had my post M/C AF but I do hope the spotting stops and it is nothing serious.
