So I went and bought a FRER. Held my pee for 5 hours and then tested this afternoon. I am now 3 days late and I don't understand why the second line is so light. Shouldn't it be as dark as the first? What does that mean for the pregnancy?

It doesn't matter how dark the line is. It will probably get darker in a few days when your body produces HcG.

The second line only need to be as dark or darker on an OPK. However on a pregnancy test the second line will get darker as you produce more HCG. That is still a BFP!! Congrats again!

Congrats!! I wanted to reiterate what some of the girls have already said - the lines don't neccessarily get too dark right away. Even at 3 days late a lot of things will affect the darkness of the line (dilution of urine even if you held it it still might be diluted, time of day, test dye, implantation day, etc). That line is a positive!!

The newer tests seem to have less dye than the old ones did. My hcg was like 500 and my test looked like that!

I see thanks ladies that makes me feel better.
And I am really sorry I forgot to put the (preg.ment) in the topic line. I did it with my first post and then just didn't think about doing it again. Very, Very sorry.

Congratulations!! FRER are now using less dye. So a line you might have seen on an older one will not look the same any more, but the second line is a great thing no matter what.

WOOHOO!!!! hooray and congrats!
dont worry about the line. it will darken up ... though honestly - if i were you i would quit testing and just be happy! we all have a tendency to worry and second guess....
