I don't have all my results yet and I haven't seen or talked to a doctor yet, but I tested positive for anti-nuclear antibodies, with a strong positive result (640, when 80 is the upper limit of normal)

I don't know what this means yet but it points to several different types of autoimmune diseases, especially lupus.

Has anyone else had this? I'm freaking out (calling dr first thing tomorrow!)

The pattern is speckled, not sure exactly what that means.

How did they diagnose lupus for you? I have three things : the b/w I just got, chronic fatigue and joint pain (especially in the summer)

Do they think that lupus is causing your losses?
And is there something that can be done?

They don't think that the Lupus is causing my losses, just that i am a old broad.
The Speckled pattern is what they see in lupus patients. It isn't a definative yes, but it leans that way. You usually have to have 4 of the markers for lupus for you to be diagnosed. I have the fatigue, malar rash, joint pain, mouth sores (painless) and a positive speckled ana. I've also had pleuresy and that is another sign of lupus. I get fevers everyday, usually in the afternoon and I get night sweats from time to time.
I would suggest that you stay out of the sun and wear spf 70 until you get a diagnosis, Sun exposure can trigger a flair.
