Hi All,

I've heard rumors that you are really fertile following a miscarriage and I am wondering if anyone has any links to reliable information supporting this?

Or, is it just a rumor?

DH and I would like to TTC as soon as it's safe and I suffered a M/C at almost 8 weeks 12 days ago.

I'd appreciate any info you have to share!

Am I more fertile after having a miscarriage? - Miscarriage - Preconception

Fertility After Miscarriage - Is It True That Women Have Increased Fertility After Miscarriage?

It took me 3 months to get pregnant... I had my miscarriage Sept 8th, and it took me three more months to get pregnant again. My BFP came Dec 22nd.

For me I was not any more fertile after my miscarriage... I had a D&C though...

I don't know if I was more fertile but we tried for over a year to get pregnant in December 2009 and lost that baby in February 2010. I got pregnant again in April 2010. I think it had more to do with knowing when I was ovulating and BD'ing lots during that time than with being more fertile. I think I was more educated after my miscarriage. And we used preseed and got pregnant the first cycle using that. I believe that made a difference also.

After my m/c I was specifically told by the nurse it would be harder to get pregnant the first two cycles after m/c, because the uterine lining needs a cycle or two to repair itself. But I tried anyways

We had sex quite a few times right after my d&c and did not get pregnant. this cycle, we had sex omnce, three days before I ovulated, and got a bfp. My body just needed a month off I guess.

I have heard very mixed reviews on this. I all think it depends on your body. GL when you do start trying. I know I ovulated 19 days after my M/C started but this first AF has been horrendous and very odd. It is making me wonder if we should wait another cycle.

Thanks Ladies!

I stopped bleeding completely 3 days ago. Last night DH was getting fresh and I really wanted to but I was scared, of infection... so I said maybe we should wait just a few more days. I don't see the OB again until June 23 which will be almost 3 weeks since my ultrasound confirmed the baby died and 2 1/2 weeks since the M/C ( I took cytotec).

I think this refers more to first pregnancy miscarriages. After your body knows how to be pregnant it usually increases your fertility but if this isa subsequent pregnancy it probably won't have an effect.

Hmmm, but if it's a subsequent pregnancy your body still knows how to be pregnant (even more so), right?

I had three m/c.... A Chemical in Oct.. concieved in Dec (so 2 months) ... My second Loss.. Was in Feb.. it took 7 months to concieve again, that was another loss in Sept.. then I went on clomid.. and 4 months later another BFP...

2 months,
7 months,
4 months...... Not thinking M/C made me any "more" fertile..

I got my First BFP after IUD removal May 15th 2009.. Sadly I miscarried my first angel May 28th 2009... I waited one cycle like the Dr suggested and the next cycle I found out I was pregnant July 31st 2009.. Sadly once again I started bleeding Aug 13th.. I didn't go to the Dr cause I knew what was happening.. After a month of not ovulating I went to the Dr to get answers and found out I was still pregnant.. My numbers were in the 4000 range but not where they should've been for 9wk pregnant.. I started bleeding again so they did a ultrasound and couldn't find the baby so concluded it a possible eptopic.. I think personally my body didn't cleanse it self fully and I still had the tissue.. So I bleed for a month or so after the methotrexate injections.. IT took me 7 cycles before I got pregnant again, and I found out on the one yr angelversary of my first lost May 28th 2010 and I just lost that one June 1st.. So I don't think it makes you any more fertile..Depends on your body..

I think it will only make you more fertile to a certain point. I got pregnant with my twins 3 months after I had my son, but I tried for 7 months to get pregnant with him. Having my son definitely made me more fertile... Thats all I know I guess.

I had my m/c 9/15/07 and had my offical bfp bw in the docs office 11/6/07 so it only took one month for me. We did use preseed that cycle though
