My name is Diane. My first miscarriage was in February, at about 9 weeks I had my first u/s and the Dr. found out that the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks and 2 days .The following week I started bleeding and had a natural m/c. Currently I’m going through my second miscarriage. On Friday I noticed some spotting, I was terrified of miscarrying again so I went to the ER. They could not find the fetal pole so I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum. Now I’m scared of ttc or getting pregnant, my question is after you had a recurrent loss did the doctor perform test to verify that everything was fine you’re your DH/SO and you? What should I ask in my next appointment? Thanks for your help

Hi and welcome. I am sorry to hear about your losses... I just lost my 3rd baby at the beginning of June and it is now that my DR will finally do some testing.. I pushed after the second one, but he just didnt think anything was wrong.. So it all depends on the Dr.. Most of them don't want to do testing since it is pretty expensive until you have had 3 or more losses.. I hope you Dr will help give you some answers.. Good luck hun..

Thank you ladies for your kind words. I have a pregnancy confirmation appoinment on July 12th, I will not cancel it but I will use it instead to talk to my Dr., try to get some tests scheduled and find if I'm healing fine. Thanks again.

Hi Diane and welcome to TTCAL!

I'm sorry that you're going thru this right now and I agree that you should keep your appt or try to get it moved up asap. Make sure you right down all of your questions to ask your doctor so that you don't forget. We all do, it's like we're deer in headlight when we see the doc's, LOL.

I've also had recurrent losses, 3 in a matter of 9 short months. I had to ask my perinatalogist repeatedly to be tested and then they referred me out (even tho I didn't need a referral) to a RE. I'm glad they did because she was more knowledgable and ran thru EVERYTHING on me.

reporductive endocrinologist.
They will check from A to Z to see if you have any disorders that would cause an MC and if there are ways to prevent it. Most insurance companies will not cover and RE visit untill you have had 3 mc's.

Thanks! Do you have to have a referral if you are willing to pay? I think that's horrible that you have to have 3 losses, one is more than enough for me.
