My Ob/gyn called me today at work and said that our test results are in. He said that the chromosomal testing on my dh came back totally normal. He also said that my tests for the most part were normal except the anti lupus coagulant. He said that the normal range goes up to 45 and my level was 47.7 so that's a bit high. This means that if/when we get pregnant again I'm supposed to take an aspirin a day.

My dh was super happy that he wasn't the problem. He figured he was. I have two healthy kids and he has none so of course in his mind he's the problem-- he was wrong.

I'm relieved to know now but I'm also a little sad. Because of my thick clotty blood, I had three losses... not because of the babies themselves. I totally understand that this may not be 100% the reason and there very well could've been issues with one or all of the three babies I lost, it's just sad to think that I may have lost three perfectly healthy babies from problems with my own body.

That said, you can't diagnose the problem without losses so that's that. I have to just accept the answer and move on.

We're still at a stand still and not actively TTC. I have a feeling that when my house sells-- if it EVER sells-- my dh will want to try again. Who knows... You guys will be the first to know and in the meantime I'm still hanging out here.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am happy you may have found the answer. So this type of testing can not be done without a loss? What is the testing they did called? Just curious in case I ever need this type of testing. I know we have not been offered any other types of testing except the basic fertility workup.

Brandi, my doctor ordered testing on my dh to see if he had chromosomal issues and then he ordered a ton of tests on me. The diagnosis was "recurrent miscarraige" and the tests for me were mostly about blood clotting issues. They drew six vials of blood for me and did over 13 tests. All were fine but the anti lupus coagulant. I guess some were protocol for recurrent losses and some were custom ordered by my doctor.

I'm glad you got an answer, Jessica. I am glad it is a quick fix, so that if you decide to continue TTC at some point, it is still an option. Good luck with selling your house!

Well I am glad you have somewhere to start now when you are actively TTC again. I am sorry that you had to go through three losses to get here.

Please do not blame yourself. This is not something you could have known before hand. But now that you do know, you can be proactive if/when you decide you are ready to TTC again.
