I have been making TTC my top priority for over a year now. I always loved running, especially trail running, but I have been putting that on hold because I am afraid my BMI will get too low and mess up my screwed up cycles and BFP chances even more. But I am getting SICK of it. I want to be able to run again!

(I am feeling pretty cranky, so *!$% you life and fate and &*#$% BFNs and %&^#@ fertility gods!!!! I am going to &*$% do what I want to *&$@! do!!! )

Anyway.....

I am thinking about signing up for a trail run in the fall so that I can have the rest of summer to get ready for it. Anyone else want to sign up for some kind of fitness event in their area around the same time? Then we can keep each other motivated to train.

Come on ladies.... you know you want to.....

Nicole, my idea of exercise is going to check the mail. Good Luck with your running! I hear there is a great exercise board here at JM with lots of girls that run.

I have the iTouch Nike+ app & insert in my running shoes.... I was going daily on my speedwalks and kept getting faster until this miserable heat hit here (100's) it sync's with my ipod n the Nike running website to show my progress. That has been great motivation for me as well as it tells me when I've made a new personal best for the mile I think my fastest walk per mile was 6mph

Now that you mention it I'm going to try to go tomorrow since it's raining and cooling things off today and tomorrow.

My ultimate goal is to condition myself to the point I can RUN a full marathon! We have the Shamrock marathon early in the year (springtime) around here along with all sorts of other events. I've never been much of a runner, but I've worked hard to kick this fibromyalgia's *** and now I want to conquer a marathon (if only they had a fund raiser one locally)

That iTouch Nike thing sounds really cool! I can't stand exercising in the heat either, so I have to get up early or stay up late to exercise in the hottest part of the summer. Today was beautiful and only 70!! So I went on a long bike ride- it was so fun. Although I did end up going up a MONSTER hill that killed my thighs. But I was so proud of myself for riding all the way up.

They have tons of half marathons (and of course 5K/10K/etc) where walking is allowed, Celena. You could start with something like that. I would also love to run a marathon someday. The longest for me so far is 15K (9 miles). This year I am thinking of a half marathon. I don't mind going slow as long as I finish.

i'm a group fitness instructor. I teach 8 classes a week minimum. I know how you feel. I really started taking my levels of my workouts down cause I was worried about it screwing up my fertility too. I have stopped worrying about it and am back to my normal levels of output. my body works much better when it's exercising. good luck with your training!! run girl, run!!

Oooooh I can do 10 miles no problem, my favorite trail to workout on is 8 miles long full of hills and decel's, sand, dirt, debris LOL I love it! I feel so high afterwards, and being drenched from sweat when I CHOOSE to be is glorious. (I hate sweating usually, LOL, EWE!)

I'd totally join you, can't say that I'd go everyday... but I was there until the last 2, 3 weeks which has felt like an eternity without working out.

Oooooh, see with the Nike+ it goes into this hole under the shoe's insert and then you pair it up with your iTouch (or the nano has a special adaptor with the shoe insert) then you can customize your workout or you can do basic which is open-ended (that's what I do) it measures your pace, mileage, have your tunes playing shuffle thru them, I love it! One of the coolest inventions. Go check out the www.Nikerunning.com and it should tell you about it. There's workout's you can download, challenges you can make. Check it out I think you'd like it!

Lynda, what kind of classes do you teach?

Celena, I will definitely NOT be going everyday I have barely been exercising, so I need to work up to it slowly. I just think it would be fun to start up again, and to actually have a goal in the end. I think you'd have fun walking a 15K or half marathon. It's so fun. The ones I look for are trails, too. I love getting dirty

BTW, Nicole your chart looks stellar!

Sounds good to me, I'd love to get back on track and incorporate some ankle weights, wrist weights eventually as well. Sweet! I like this plan allot

I am not a runner but I do like to walk. I really need to get up in the mornings early to get excercise in or it doesnt get done. I cant really go unless my husband is still here with the children. I have been thinking of getting up early and walking before he leaves. I have just been depressed about ttc and have been sleeping in. LOL
I am so bummed about my diet right now. Have been doing ww but cant seem to get myself back on track.

I like your plans of running again though. I need to get walking. Maybe someday I would be able to work up to running. Running seems to always make my side hurt. Is that normal?

You have to make sure you are well hydrated and have enough carbs, potassium and such otherwise you will get muscle cramps. Even with walking, power walking, jogging & esp running... It's not uncommon hon.

You will notice a lift in your moods and getting up every day will become a routine and then you'll CRAVE it. Be easy on yourself and give yourself a reasonable goal with mild structure.

Like my general goals are 2 days off, any day of week not including weather days altho sometimes I would count the inclimate weather as my "day off" lol. But it's whatever you can do and not lose motivation for, so I find it easier this way having an open mind about it.

I agree with Celena. Start with walking and later on work up to running if you want to. The more in shape you are by the time you get to running, the better you'll feel. I usually spend most of the first couple weeks biking when I am getting back into exercising because it isn't as hard on me as running. And walking would serve the same purpose.

It can be rough to get into a routine, esp when you are getting up early to do it, but you will feel so good that you will want to exercise eventually. I am even more lax than Celena I usually just try for 3 days a week in the beginning. Then by the time I am more in shape I am just looking for any time I can find to get out and exercise!
