Hey girls. I'm new to this portion of the message board.

A few months back, I had an ectopic pregnancy. I am back to normal now, and have the Dr's ok to TTC. I had my first period at the end of may. (May 21st), but it lasted way longer than normal, it wasn't over til the beginning of June (June 3rd), I asked the Dr about this, and he said since it was my first period back, it was normal.

I haven't been able to track fertility, or menstrual things yet, since I have only had one period since my loss, but on a menstrual calculator I have used, it said my period should have come June 18th. It's still not here.

I'm trying to put of POAS, because I don't wanna get let down in case this is just another thing my body is still adjusting to, but at the same time I can't help but get my hopes up.

Any advice? Should I POAS, or should I just wait it out? It took my husband and I for me to get pregnant with the ectopic, around eight months. Should I just expect it to take that long again?

Amy

Hi msshamis23,

I know exactly how you feel. We just experienced a loss on April 28th. Everything went back to normal and I got my first menstrual on May 29th. Now I am due for my second menstrual and it is no where in sight. I started having some pregnancy symptoms and kind of got excited. After a loss you want nothing more than to have another child to fill that void. But now those same pregnancy symptoms are not as prominent as the ywere a week ago, and it feels very low. We've taken 3 hpt's all coming back negative so I can truly relate. I am new to this and I have no idea what POAS means, but I wish you the best of luck in your journey to recovery and a family.

POAS (Pee on a stick)

Yeah, I think i'm just going to force myself to wait til Friday or Saturday, if AF hasn't come by then. When I was pregnant with my first, I knew right away because of the morning (all day) sickness I had. Throwing up over everything! That's kinda how it is now, but I was still trying to get over the previous pregnancy, and some things still make me sick since then, so I have no idea if my nausea, is just still leftover from the previous or not.

Hmm.....too bad i'm so impatient. Ha.

Lol, I think the anxiety of not knowing is harder than the disappointment of a bfn for me. I'm on the POAS wagon! lol I don't know, if your period is 11 days late...

It could be a messed-up cycles thing, and a test could give you more of an idea of what's going on.

It is so hard to judge what's going on with cycles after loss.

If it were me, I would POAS because I would go crazy otherwise, but there is no harm in waiting until you're comfortable. It does happen to get pg that quick after loss for some people. And some people do have irregular cycles after loss, so it could go either way.

I hope it turns out that you get a surprise BFP!
