My body is driving me crazy. I started taking micronor (progestin-only pill) while I was nursing Patrick because I'm really dry when nursing, and while using a condom, it was making it so I didn't want to dtd at all and it was really affecting my relationship with my husband. So it helped in that regard, but I didn't get a period. I weaned Patrick in January...and still no period 6 weeks later so at the end of a pill pack I went off the pill. I finally got a period April 26th (Patrick was 14 months and one day old), and I started up the pill again thinking that that was all my body needed. The pack ended...no period. So I waited to start the next pack, and week later AF showed up. May 30th. So that's 34 days, which isn't that big a deal, really, but I'm used to 28 day cycles, so anything longer than that starts giving me pregochondria (even when I know I didn't O until cd 21ish). So I had one more pack of micronor (I'd gotten 3 at a time), and decided to go ahead and use it since we'd already paid for it, and I started it the day AF showed up.
and here I am still periodless. I'm fairly certain I Od June 19th or 20th....and the 20th would put AF due today. hpt yesterday was bfn, but I'm not feeling it AF-y at all.
So anyway, long story short, I'm not going to refill the bcp because I think it's interfering with my body and I want my body to just do its thing. So condoms for us for the next little while (I'm not having the dryness issue anymore).
I'm also thinking about getting myself a bbt and starting to temp. just so I can figure out what's really going on with my body.

Oh yes bbt charting, Im loving it. Get one, its not expensive and fertility friend is so easy to use, Im thinking Im going to buy the vip membership but since this is my first month trying it out Im waiting to see if the free membership is sufficient. (You get the vip for 17 days when you join, so I havent been able to compare yet since Im only on cd 15)
It takes a few cycles to see a pattern with charting so it makes absolutely good sense to get started temping now, so when you are ready to ttc, you have a good base already. Have fun!

I hope AF shows for you soon and your body starts getting back into a normal pattern. BBT charting isn't too hard, and I agree it's easier to start when you're not TTC yet and there isn't any pressure. Good luck!

AF showed up late last night, right before bed, and is in full force this morning. I used my regular digital thermometer (ear kind) because I haven't picked up a bbt yet. What's the difference between a bbt and a regular one?

Its the sensitivity that the bbt thermometer at reads that is important. Your temps could only fluctuate by a small amount. For example, you could get a reading of 97.6 on a regular thermometer, when in actuality it is 97.61 or 97.69. It makes a difference on your chart. Hope that helps

Ah, okay, I'll pick myself up one tomorrow then.
I hate periods. They really suck.

Agreed! Periods are in no way fun. I wonder how we managed to have to have periods, and then have the baby? (I mean I know one is essential to the other, and I wouldn't have DH carry the baby or anything....)but all they get to do is the fun part of TTC, AND/OR not TTC. It would be nice if they maybe got a period when we did, just to even it out a little. hehe......
I've heard that BCP can screw up your cycle. I don't use them because I haven't been able to find a pill thus far that doesn't make me sick to my stomach. But since we are TTC it's not a big deal. So it might be just what your body needs to regulate, and have normal cycles again, because I definitely know how frustrating it is not having normal cycles, and the whole "pregochondria' thing. (I love the word BTW)
Speaking of ole AF, she still hasn't shown up for me. :/

Brittanie.. I would temp... And while yes the BBT shows that last number.. I used a regular one for many months and I still got cross hairs on fertility friend that matched right up with my + opks... AND I worked Night shift. So I never temped at the same time. As long as you get 4 hours of undisterbed sleep (I even tempted on the days I didn't sleep as well) It doesn't have to be perfect. I am proof of that. And like I said I got cross hairs every month! And was right on target with my + OPK.. and the last three three months I had the U/S with the clomid.. and all three matched up Perfectly!! Even with all the different times temping and different sleep patterns.

What I liked about charting was knowing exactly what day AF would show (I have very regular cycles). The guesswork was gone - I would see the temp drop and know to be prepared. I used a regular digital thermometer for the first few cycles, but finally got a BBT as it was much more accurate.

Britt I'm glad AF finally showed up and hopefully your cycle will get back on track with 28'er instead of the 34 days. I'd have preggochondria as well if it was 6 days late, I was weirded out my 3, 4 days
Ooooooh yay, you're starting to temp! The BBT goes to say 97.18 instead of regular 97.1, a hundreth of a degree. So it can be a tad more acurate when trying to see the fluctuation of temp's... Mine have been 97.18 several days then 97.20 back down to 97.18 so it's interesting to see that teensy difference.

Well, my temp went from 97.5 (normal for me) yesterday to 96.1 this morning. But I had my window open.... I'll be buying a bbt today.
